I found myself captivated by the ski jumping and speed skating today. Of course, the fact I'm sick and am perfectly happy staring off into space might have played a roll, but it was very interesting. I'll be following tonight's coverage as well.
One thing, though - I was absolutely incensed that we got the opening ceremonies on a 3-hour tape delay. The torch was actually lit at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time, but we didn't get to see it until midnight. Or, I should say I didn't get to see it until about 2:30 this afternoon, since I wasn't about to stay up until midnight with this cold, which has me exhausted.
And Bob Costas really needs to learn when to put a sock in it.
I'm going to find where NBC has a feedback spot and really give them heck over it.

I tuned in on and off for about an hour, but saw little in the way of competition. Saw endless commercials and a lot of commentator jaw wagging. That was about it.

I found it funny when Colbert crawled into the fake fire on the NBC set.
Some of the events are boring me, but I loved the snowboarding events.
