I'm interested to know why you're bringing your complaints about the
mini-series to me. If you'd take a few moments to read the website,
you'd
notice that it is an UNOFFICIAL site. I pay for it out of my own
pocket and
therefore feel that I have the right to remove messages as I see fit.
Now I
have no problem with people having their own opinions- I had absolutely
no
intention of removing jjrackman's last message. But enough is enough.

I have been nothing but kind and just don't feel that I deserve this
treatment. And frankly, I'm not interested in picking apart every
single
word of every single sentence that was said in an interview.

Feel free to be unhappy about the series not being continued the way
that
you want, but please don't take it out on me.

Suggestion #1 - ask her that. Does she have any actual contact with Katee?

Also, it would probably be a good move to reassure her that we aren't bringing the fight against the Abomination to her site. We were concerned about Katee's comments because they seemed to display a complete lack of knowledge about the original character. And, if she does have contact with Katee, she could perform a very valuable service by passing our concerns along. After all, Katee has the makings of being a fine actress, and we'd hate to see her credibility damaged.

Did you know that it was Katee who played Richard Dreyfuss' rebellious daughter in "the Education of Max Bickford" on CBS a couple of years ago? I hadn't realized it - she did a fair job in that.

I've probably gotten a little defensive about messages that people have left me after I got one berating me for the 'rape' of the series. The e-mail I got was specifically meant for me and about a page long. I just don't need that and I have absolutely nothing to do with this mini-series.

I completely understand you guys having your own opinions and stating them. I just *really* don't want to have to be thrown into the argument.

All of your comments are still in my guestbook. They have *not* been deleted. I just took it down after receiving messages directed towards me (not by any of you).

But as I previously stated, I haven't had any contact with Katee since the mini-series started shooting, as I had expected. I have never stated otherwise... Check out the boards that I've posted on, I've flat out said that.

I understand that getting lots of support e-mail from one guy pretending to be a slew of people, then being made Mod for a board populated by this guy's clones, is a tough thing to deal with. But taking Mod status for a Pro-ReImagining Board, means you ARE in the argument.

However, that being said, since the website you run is kateesackoff.com, I fail to understand why you're so surprised that outrage about her comments would come to your website, and not, let's say Disney.com. I mean really, how stupid can people be, when someone makes a slew of really dense statements, why on heavens earth would they bother to send their comments to a site that bears her name?

If you're so out of touch with Katee, maybe you should simply forward the comments recieved to Katee, instead of acting like it's you being assaulted.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh Lauren, but come on, you can't claim that you completely unaware of the tensions over this entire topic.

Is it right for people to blame You for Katee statements, or the direction of her character? No, not in the least.

However, whether you like it or not, as webmaster of the kateesackoff.com site, as well as a Mod for the pro-Moore Reimaging site, you might be better off not acting so surprised and bewildered by anger that comes in your direction.

Again, forward the responses straight to katee, or her Agent, and make it clear on your page that is where the stuff is being sent...

From the start of this whole thing, I was approached simply to donate photos and a bio. That's all that I signed on for but it soon escalated to getting hate messages.

I do apologize for being short with you guys... And I realize that your messages really had nothing to do with me... I really did appreciate that second message from Warrior. The guestbook will be going back up but I'm having huge problems with server right now and can't even log in.

I am completely aware of the tensions over the re-imagining (or whatever you want to call it). -- But just for the record, I know absolutely nothing about Battlestar Galactica. I've seen about one episode in my entire life. Which is why I've tried to stay out of the arguments.

Early in my youth, I had thought about becoming a Deaf Interpreter. you know, you see those Folks doing sign language when someone is doing a speech.

Sometimes that job takes you to big venues, or small, one on one converstations, such as court rooms, or corporate board rooms.

Part of that job is conveying everything, good, bad, and ugly to the person you're interpretting for, verbatim.

It's not You saying it, and the speaking/hearing person isn't addressing it to you, it's just your job to see to it that all the information is passed on as clearly and completely as possible.

I have a feeling this falls into that same sort of category.

It's one thing to do a website when the subject isn't controversial, or doesn't start out controversial.

It's a fairly simple endeavor.

However, once it sets foot beyond the line of controversy, watch out, life just got more difficult.

This battle for Galactica has been going on for 25 LONG years, and most of us (read nearly all) have been fighting for a faithful return of Galactica, via a Continuation. For many of us, the idea of Starbuck being changed into a woman was the same as changing the Mona Lisa into a Guy in a Wig.

Then add to that the recent Clone Invasion, which you ended up getting pulled into. I don't know if you realize it, but that whole group, from Milton James, on down, was nothing more than a fiction perpetrated by 2 guys, who work for the company distributing the Video Game.

I really, Honestly suggest, if you have a way to directly contact Katee, you might be advised to use it, and get her to re-examine her statements. As it is, accepting her as Starbuck is nearly impossible for 99% of the existing Galactica fanbase. Add her comments about it into the mix, and that number get's higher, and more solidly against her. Those comments have pretty much turned her into the Tanya Harding of Galactica...

This I know absolutely nothing about. I did see a few references to something like that while checking up on forums just the other day, but had (and have) no idea what's gone on... I'll admit that being made a moderator for the Katee Sackhoff section of the forum over at the website, I really have not done the best job of keeping up with all of the posts... And have apparently not been filled in on this, which sounds like something I should probably know.

It really isn't you they are angry at. It's the whole mess revolving around the mini, and the way it has been handled.

Seriously, there are a lot of folks here, far more diplomatic than I could ever hope to be, who would be happy to bring you up to speed on this stuff. Might I suggest Jewels or Micheleh, 2 of the nicest Ladies you'll ever meet, and they both have their fingers on the pulse of what all is going on, both in the Galactica Fanbase, and they have a fairly even keel about the recent "history" events that you have gotten deluged with.

Unlike some of us Warriors, who charge in boldly where Angels fear to tread, Jewels and Micheleh do hold the corner on the diplomatic side of things.

Now, if you want a good History Lesson on the Battle for Galactica, warts and all, feel free to ask away...

Around December, we had a guy with the handle "Moore_Man" show up singing the praises of all things Ron Moore, and declaring he would do anything to "win at any cost" regarding Moore and the Re-Imagining.

He identified himself as Milton James.

It wasn't long before not only Milton (aka Milty) was followed by no less that 30-50 devout followers of Ron Moore, all declaring the Script for the Mini no less than a Holy Document, and an example of perfection.

They all seemed as equally rabid in their support of the mini, and their distain for the Original Series (the TOS).

Soon, the website, now known as galactica2003.net was formed, under the supposed hand of Captain Milton James, and populated by these fellow followers of Milton and Moore.

However, behind the scenes, these supposed "fans" were doing everything they could to discredit any and all who stood opposed to Moore and the Mini, including accusing some of us of waging Cyber Terrorist attacks on them, and threatening to contact the FBI.

Well, it wasn't long after that, one of those accused of Cyber Terrorism decided enough was enough, and he began investigating Milton and the Milton Army.

It turned out that instead of 30-50 in number, it turned out to be just 2. Ted (aka Apothis) and Vince (aka SciFiman76). They had spent a great deal of effort to create an entire array of clone handles, all meant to give the appearence of a mass following for the Mini, and for Moore himself.

Their tactics included forged letters of support sent to the Studios, enlisting support from people like you, and in some cases, posing as young girls to try and sway Male members of the Opposition. (For that alone, Ted had best keep a low profile).

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Why did they do it? That is the big question. Some say $$$ from the Production Staff (read: Ron Moore himself). Other's say because the two guys have issues regarding Ron Moore (I won't even get into that icky concept). Still others are leaning toward the idea that since they both work for the company distributing the Video Game, that they are trying to generate a sales base, so they can profit from it.

Whatever their reasons, it has turned into a huge mess, which neither of them will even comment on.

Even now, they continue trying to infiltrate other sites and other forums, trying to fein innocence, and re-start their efforts.
