March on Scifi
I saw this on the Callisto board on the scifi.com board...I think its worth taking a MAJOR look at and seeing what we can do to join!!!
"I now lead the Flagship of a relatively large group know as Alpha Fleet. It’s composed of more than a dozen on-line BSG revival groups and 16 Starfleet groups. (Yes it seems the “Treckies” are a lil pissed and Ron and the gang too). And currently we have 124,000+ non-affiliated members as well. Needless to say the organization and logistics for a group this size takes up most of the time of both myself and my senior staff. Thousands of man-hours have been spent in the effort to block this upcoming atrocity that is set to air on SCIFI December 8th. But as I have said before...the TRUE fans will fight right up till the end. Give ‘em hell every step of the way." [an off topic slam from original author (not Kristi) edited here by Jewels]
"So following in the truest of BSG tradition....my lil rag-tag fleet intends to keep fighting against the odds until we are totally defeated or until we manage a victory. [another edit here] I should remind you the “New Series” is in fact not a series....it’s just a lil 4 hour mini series...so even if they do air this mess...there is still a chance to change things over time. I like to think of the SCIFI mess as another BSG 1980 type blunder. "
"Plans are in the works to have a protest March on the SCIFI Channels cooperate offices on Dec.6 just two days before the airing of the atrocity. At this point we expect about 53,000 of our people to show up. If you would like to participate in the march or join Alpha Fleet, just e-mail me for the details. "
The email address is Warroom@techemail.com
Like I said ... I think this is MAJOR and we would be fools not to join it!!!

::Kristi, sorry about the edits but in light of the much more complicated nature of some of the stuff Killjoy was talking about regarding Callisto (I did read the full copy over at Gold Squadron), I think we should keep the good info in his post and not the dirty laundry/axe grinding::

If this truely happens i would be astonished.
Although i have my reservations about something like this you can expect the backing of Fleets 100%. But in all honesty it's hard to believe that you could get 53,000 people to march on Scifi. BUT if that happens i can't see them dismissing this as just a bunch of unruley fans.
Good luck and keep us informed. We'll do what we can to help.

If anyone can do this, it's Kristi.
I've seen her do some pretty astonishing things in the past.
You go Girl. I'm behind you 100% too.

Charybdis & Lucian: I edited the sour grapes of the original poster out, obviously Kristi's point was to spread the word about the demonstration, not join in slamming Callisto. His post was a lot to cut one's way through, and those slams were tucked into those paragraphs so they were easy to miss or glaze over.
Sorry I didn't catch it earlier, your point wasn't ignored though.

Jewels,
Thank you for your efforts and understanding. I'm removing my previous comments.
Tony
P.S. I'm sure Kristi was just in a hurry and overlooked the part with which we had concerns.

Paul: there is great good hope! I hope this group pulls off a huge demonstration at SciFi Channel. More power to them if they can do it.
We just need to get past that mini airing and see what Mr. Larson starts.

Jewels was right. I glazed over a few areas...sorry. But to those that emailed me chewing my tail out...that was uncalled for. Here I was just trying to rally the troops up - trying to show there is still hope and there is still a fight to be fought!
I have never been one to quit. And yeah sure the fat lady may be on the friggin stage but you know what... she ain't sung a note yet! So it ain't over! And I aint giving up either! If you don't wanna fight - hey that's up to you. I just am trying to keep the hope alive... Remember when we used to say
"NEVER GIVE UP NEVER SURRENDER!!!" ????
Well I do... and I am living by that mantra. I never gave up as I pushed at conventions (one so much I got seriously injured at), did email boycotts, and snail mail letters of protest.
So if I am guilty of attempting to rally the troops and get some fight pumping...then I am guilty! But the charges I was accused of before things were edited and were sent to me in the emails...that is just plain wrong and I am extremely offended!

Kristi: I saw what you had to edit down from off the Callisto board: it was easy to see how those little barbs were easy to miss--what you cut out was the majority of the drek.
I hope whoever was on your tail has apologized. All I saw was your enthusiasm for passing on someone else's proposed action plan, because those type numbers could have an impact. Just hope the dude's protest comes off.

Nothing to forgive. Been through worse. (Waaaay worse)
Glad you and your enthusiasm are back. Read those DeSanto/Larson threads in "what dreams may come". Battery recharge time for the Jedi's lightsaber....

Kristi...
No one has gotten on you about your desire to work for the BSG revival. We all know your passion for the show. That's not the issue here...
What has gotten out of hand is the fact that certain things said about another online group was included in your post that were rather personal in nature toward that group. The things said were a personal opinion slamming that group accusing them of "giving" up and questioning their loyalty to being fans of BSG.
'
THAT was what this was all about. Let's keep all the negative stuff off the boards!
This is the end of all of this. I will NOT comment nor post anything about this matter again.
Thanks,

No that was never the issue, was it. But whatever. Attacking people with out knowing the truth that is wrong. An apology would be nice. But if I don't get one that is fine. I atleast apologized for my mistake!

My apologies
My apologies to everyone here. It’s true that there is some bad air between myself and the Callisto...however it was just a unfortunate accident it was posted here as it was. The Callisto and Alpha Fleet have called somewhat of a truce because neither side has time and resources to waist on such trivial matters.
As for Kristi, you will be very hard pressed to find anyone more dedicated to the revival effort than this young lady. We should all be very happy she is on our side. Many of you have sent e-mails to the Alpha Feet’s Warroom@techemail.com account addressed to her. Unfortunately she will not be getting these until we are able to forward them to her. Kristi was just passing along something she had seen on another board and decided to post it here to share with you folks. Her membership with Alpha Fleet remains undecided at the moment.....but, I’m sure she’ll come around as she has made it clear to me she believes very much in what we are doing here.
The response from people here at Colonial Fleets and other sites has been somewhat overwhelming for my communications staff and myself. Please be patient as we are trying to answer each e-mail with all possible speed. PDF files with all the required information on the protest march and membership information for Alpha Fleet is being sent to anyone who requests it.
I’m sure you all have received e-mail or seen postings on several boards about battlestargalactica.com’s “Unity Effort” Let it be known that Alpha Fleet, in addition to our own efforts, Lends it’s full support to battlestargalactica.com and their unity plan, and will do what ever we can to help with this new effort. And again let me thank those of you here at Colonial Fleets who have show support for Alpha Fleet and our plans.

Welcome to Fleets Jim!!!
I admit I'm pretty ignorant on the problems you are having. But you are all welcome here! Most of the bad blood regarding sites does nothing to help us bring BG back. So we try to give everyone a nice friendly place to chill out. And we hope you can have fun here. We greet you as comrades and friends. We are stronger together than apart. Plus we all have something fun in common to talk about!
Even if you are too busy to really be part of Fleets please feel free to at least lurk around. We will be expanding soon and you will like the new stuff.
Keep the Faith!

Good to hear!
I want to apologize to everyone here and in particular Jim and Kristi. The last thing we need is to fan flames of division within BSG fandom!
I am truly sorry for my part in this debacle...
Glad to see you back Kristi and glad to see you too, Jim!

Maybe I'm just a no life loser or something but if I'd gotten firm information on when and were I was ready to get in a car and drive to NY for this. I'm assuming that the scifi offices in NY is were it was suposed to be.
I don't guess any of it realy matters cause even 10k ppl couldn't have marched in that blizzard.

nope!
but really. I think we all just need to relax and just be more supportive in a relaxed "I love BG" fashion and less fanatical.
The fanatical part of the movement hasn't really produced bodies in any significant amount in any public function. So I think we should realize this and focus on making friends that will like BG.
