Re: Vipers and Rag Tag Fleet animation recreation
I think I seen the "Old one" was not that long ago was it?
anyway looks good. could use a few stars. Next time maybe use an off color light(s)- just give a small tint (any)color. TIP: pure white light is not the best light to use for almost any and all purposes, is not a natural thing. >>>> is a tip I read and have lived by it so far.
Maybe try some other lighting setups- looks like several point lights being used. by the points and falloffs being shown on ships. try a 3 point light setup- main light, a backlight lower in intensity and a third for casting off shadow.
or try area lights, infinite light etc. use falloffs, intensities and types. Lighting is important and one of them things that seems you got to figure out for yourself and learn to use, have not found any good material but a few pointers and tips for lighting.
Keep it up, make more.... is how I am learning also...
Regards,
Randal R.

@Queenhunter yes it was not long ago and the stars seem to fade when put up on youtube but you can see them if you look for them. Lighting the sun is a pale yellow two lights for the nebula (blue) are set lower as is the fill light from the rear angle (light blue).

Re: Vipers and Rag Tag Fleet animation recreation
Funny, you know I had the Exact Same Problem only was before uploading. with the stars.
A render preview would look fine, but a finish render the stars would grow a lot smaller and less visible.
What I did for mine in C4d was increase star size, brightness and Magnitude( number of ) took awhile to get the stars to show up nicely in final renderings.
But when uploaded you could not see the stars at all before I tweaked them., strange eh?
