Battlestar Galactica 1978 Galactica 80 Imperious Leader

I just realized something...

In Battlestar Galactica, it was found out the Imperious Leaders voice was Iblis' (since Patrick McNee played the role of Iblis and provided the Imperious Leader voice).

But in "Space Croppers" from BG-80, they have the Imperious leader with a different voice.

Who was it?

I think it's a guy galled Walker Edmiston, who did a lot of voice work. I can remember an old Starlog interview with him and he mentioned he'd done a voice for Galactica. He also played Koldar in the Buck Rogers ep The Dorian Secret.

Why did they not use MacNee? Or at least looped stuff?

They dropped the ball on so many things in G80, I doubt they thought much about voice continuity. They sure got the Centurion voice all wrong in the return of Starbuck. That of course may be due to not taking time to duplicate the original vocoder settings or something like that.
Could it be that Patrick MacNee refused to have his voice used on such a steaming pile of felgercarb?

Possibly. But a mere "let the attack begin" shouldn't have been a problem??????

Well there you go, using logic and common sense, you'll never run a tv production thinking like that!

I thought it was Dick Duroc that did the voice of Imperious Leader in G80? I remember reading that in a magazine, because they were saying he played Swamp Thing too.

He did, in the original pilot, during production. MacNee's voice was used later.
