PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Finally, the first 15 minutes of BattleSTAR Galactica WARS is available to view at the link below. No action yet. Just establishing the story, but I hope you find it something to enjoy.

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Steve that was pretty cool! I think there is a slight issue though. During the review of the gun footage in the captains quarters on the star destroyer the voice audio drops off. I still can hear the music fine but there is an issue with the voices. At least i could not hear it.
Other than that it's a fun story begining. Steve would be happy!

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Most kind, thank you.
The vocal audio in the "gun camera" scene was intended to be muted for that particular shot....it was intended to look more like a quiet montage, with the captain contemplating his actions regarding the "new threat". Unfortunately, I've not quite mastered a good segue as to how to make it apparent that it is a silent montage, and not an audio error. LOL!

Yes I was enjoying it as well, same issue with the voices that Titon had.
keep it up.

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Thanks, Marvin.
Don, Marvin, believe it or not, I did actually have an audio vocal track for that scene (it was the only way I could get the characters' mouths to move convincingly...LOL) , but I dropped it in favor of "the silent montage/vignette" approach because a lot of the lines would be repeated later on the bridge, and I felt there was already enough repetition with Cdr Greers giving his report to Captain Raffor, and then the Captain reporting same to Lord Vader.

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
wow a 15 minute video, are you sure your name is not david? lol
I liked the Intro Text. the combined SW-BSG, not the scroll,
Story scroll was good. no typo's like me LOL.
Bridge scene was cool .
Something am always on the lookout, AUDIO !!! TRACKS!!!! VOICE SFX !!!
and you got some.... GOOD.
Im getting jeaolous, you can tell a story better than I can
Where did you get the Script or Dialogue?
I am starting to really like this the more I watch it...
very good job.
Ya Know I just thought, with your iClone and My C4d, we could mix
it up. As in I do exterior space and you do interior space.
It may be odd or strange, just a thought.
Regards,
Randal R.

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Thanks, Randal. I'm glad you liked it.
Yeah, I was writing up a script, and am still writing it, as the story is unfinished. (Especially waiting to determine how the space battles go. )
I did all the voices too...you could probably tell...LOL!
And I LOVE doing sound editing. It's a nice little challenge to make sure the music and sound effects cue up just right, for that right amount of effect and dramatic pacing, and mixing it in with dialogue.
Thanks for the kind words on the story telling. I used to write fanfics of Galactica. Only one of them is finished. (Dark Exodus). The others have been in various stages of writing for years (Reciprocity and Galactica: The Last Battlestar).
Your proposal sounds cool. Perhaps in a future collaborative project. I'd bet between myself, you, and David Kerrin, we could probably really whip up something EPIC.
Thanks again for the kind words,
Steve

Hi, Dawg,
It is very, very possible that you might be seeing a report for me based on one of my older email accounts. My current email account is fine.
BTW, did you get to check out the vid?

PROGRESS REPORT:
So, I'm happily typing the script along, writing up the next scenes...when a thought occurs to me....."DAMMIT! Now I have to build more ships!"
Thankfully, it doesn't take me very long.

PROGRESS REPORT:
The story is now up to 20 minutes in length (first shot finally fired), and it will likely run at least over a half-hour....but I'm hoping I might be able to crank out a good enough story to make it feature length (an hour or better)

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Indeed. Since it seems that any official Galactica production keeps getting sidelined, stonewalled, or otherwise just put off, I guess it's up to the likes of Dave, you, and myself, and other fanfic and fanfilm writers/makers to try and entertain our fellow fans.

PROGRESS REPORT:
Video is now up to 29 minutes....the ladies are about to slug it out. There will probably be some things happening that will make fanboys/girls either squee with glee, or rant off with anger...but hey, I don't follow ordinary convention.

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
Well...hopefully the final product will be worth the appetite.
Story right now is just over 30 minutes and still progressing. At least I have achieved the goal of making it over a half-hour long...my ultimate (but likely unattainable) goal is to make the story feature length (an hour or more). Then again, if I add multiple facets to this battle, I might be able to achieve just that.

32 and a half minutes, and still going strong.
I will likely at least get broadcast episode length out of this. (40-45 minutes)

LOL! Well, I was thinking more Stephen King (The Gunslinger) unless Dorothy is a character that appears in a later read of The Dark Tower series.

Re: PRESENTING: BattleSTAR Galactica WARS Part I
PROGRESS REPORT:
Ok....so I went and pulled a George Lucas of sorts.
Even though my version of the mighty battlestar looks heavily armed...all we really see are her anti-capital ship turrets....her pulsars if you will. I went back and modified my model to include the anti-starfighter cannons that dot and line the battlestar. I think I lost count of just how many I put on her, but I put them in sensible places. Now she looks even more battle ready than before. So I reshot a few of the Galactica shots to introduce the updated version of my model.
Don't worry....there aren't gonna be any "who shot who first" scenarios. And there definitely won't be any cutesy critters, mechanical or otherwise. (Sorry, Muffit. )

PROGRESS REPORT:
Movie is now almost 35 minutes long....and that's just with shots I've been completing. There are still a TON of other shots that have to be made to go in between what's already transpired...insert photography and dialogue/scenes. Yep, I do believe I will get at least broadcast episode time out of this.

I was thinking of the British mystery authoress, creator of Lord Peter Wimsey. He always says "thankee" or drops the diphthongs.

Ah, then perhaps King took his inspiration for some of the speech and mannerisms in The Gunslinger/Dark Tower series from that author.
