Jericho Finally in its Proper Resting Place: YouTube
Jericho, the ratings-challenged CBS show that got two lives courtesy of fan outcry on the web, popped up on YouTube over the last couple weeks. We noticed the addition when we were researching another story yesterday.
The show, a post-nuclear strike drama about a small Kansas town, was canceled after its first season. After vocal fan outcry, CBS brought it back for a short run, but still failed to draw a significant audience, and was canceled again.
Now Jericho has found a new home where its fans live — on the web. CBS posted nearly every episode of the series to YouTube in recent days. But so far the audience for them has been minimal — many episodes have yet to break 100 views. As we commented yesterday, the way CBS’ YouTube profile buries content isn’t exactly conducive to viewer discovery.
Jericho is also available elsewhere online, for example on Joost and CBS.com. However, YouTube is the people’s video site.
