a belated trailer for the 30th
A trailer I had in my mind for a while and finally got around to putting together. Its not perfect, and the program I was using was a new one so I'm not as happy with some of the audio levels, but its for fun and a reason to try a new program.
I hope you enjoy.
Happy 30th.

Love it! That works given that Cylons were once reptiles. Very cool.

Re: a belated trailer for the 30th
Sweet stuff from you, as always David!
A CGI Battlestar in small doses does work, it allows for above and under angles of the vessel that were sorely lacking in the original series. Although the attaching pods to the landing bays are on the kinda thin side. They're neat shots none the less though.
With those shots of the CGI battlestar name plates, you could put in whatever 'battlestar names' you'd like to add to the canon, in your future fan edits no doubt, as well.
Congratulations!
KJ

Wasn't that from the original first draft of Living Legend, entitled "The Last Legend". Where Cain DID indeed, without a shadow of a doubt. Sacrifice himself and his Battlestar to save the fleet from Baltar and his Baseship's rampage! Believe or not, ABC and Larson changed it at the last minute and altered it, so it was unclear whether the Pegasus and Cain were lost. Hence why Starbuck, gives some blatantly obvious exposition, as to why the Pegasus probably jumped into deep space the way he (Cain) did last time (The Battle of Molocay)
Whatta know, Dave's just gone and recreated it. Is there no end to the man's talent?

Re: a belated trailer for the 30th
Hey there everyone... Glad you like it. Something to get some fun going with a couple series (at least the first two miniseries with V... the series was equal to G1980) that I loved.
I may still revise some stuff in here. Instead of fighting the basestars in space I want to add a shot of vipers taking on a basestar in atmosphere over a devastated city. Maybe the classic ruins of NY with the Statue of Liberty destroyed. A scifi cliche I know, but what the heck.
And Steve... I know some bit-torrent sites still have the fan edits running. If you search "battlestar fanedit" on demonoid.com, mininova.org or the piratebay.org then they should pop up. I also have to get some of the shorter ones back on youtube.
I'll certainly let you all know if I get around to updating the V-BSG thing.
All my best,
Dave

This is very good stuff - I was surprised about the high quality of the editing.

Re: a belated trailer for the 30th
I made some minor revisions to the trailer, and reposted the "Destiny's End" trailer on my youtube page that offers another crossover ending.
The changes to the Brothers of Man trailer are some alternate effects shots mixed in. Wanted to show a basestar in atmsphere.
you will find the videos at https://www.youtube.com/dkerin
Thanks,
Dave

Re: a belated trailer for the 30th
Version 2's got some neat additions David.
For a crossover, near the end it might be good to still combine footages of both BG and V though. And have the V characters celebrate the Galactica and her Vipers showing up and destroying both the Cylons and Vistors in combat, via some reaction shots from the V mini series. Just an idea mind you.
Love the CG Battlestar shots. Especially the forward Basestar traveling movement shots too. THATS what the original series lacked and i've always figured the Basestar's should've been seen as more ominous and threatening, if you know what i mean? They're a little bulky but i like'em none the less. Guess it ain't easy modeling them in CG.
Any chance you'd make any CG or photoshop changes to any of the graphics, fars as the bridge displays goes?
Just like you did with the BSG-HOG Edit, i'd love to see all-new graphics showings of the 'Bridge', being the control centre of a military vessel with all the tactical displays and a holographic showing of the Galactica's inner workings ("blueprints") and whatnot etc.
BG fandom very lucky to have you David, you're inspirational as always man! like your almost making new episodes or something!
KJ
P.S.
Please take my G80 edit ideas into consideration someday. I'd love to see you make some of the SFX and take some actually good scenes along with 'Return Of Starbuck' and make an all-new episode or something or other, and return the epic space adventure themes, to Battlestar as only you've done DK!
