Re: Avatar Teaser Trailer (Quicktime)
Just saw the film in 3D. Parts of the 3D were excellent and none badly done. It was very pretty ... too much so in my opinion. About halfway, I got tired of the overt album cover "awesomeness" shoved down my throat. The film was based on an incredibly stupid story that had a lot of Liberalist undertones but no real structure (Liberal or otherwise). It certainly didn't have the Day After Tomorrow sort of push that at least let you know where it was going.
Overall, the script was unworthy of the money and tech they put into it. THe final film has a lot of boring action that surrounds a lot of characters that I wished had died a lot sooner, or perhaps never wasted time in the film in the first place. I won't buy it when its released but it was fun to see in 3D just for the VFX. If you can see it in 3D I'd say it was worth the price of the ticket but don't expect the story to have any more merit than the descriptions you get with any other Viewmaster, which effectively is what this was.
All my best,
Russell
