My Youth
I feel kinda bad that I didn't realise that BSG was good when I was a kid!
I was blinded by the star wars giant and didn't even see BSG!
Sure I got a Viper for Christmas from someone who didn't know star wars was cooler.
I had Starbuck,a cylon and a daggit just cos I thought they were neat.
But that all faded after I discovered Mr Spock on sunday.
So star wars got me into SCI-FI than I blew off BSG for ST and even Space 1999.
I should talk about my finding BSG in reruns but that didn't happen I watched Buck Rogers instead at this point(bummer)
Then my public TV station started showing this thing called Doctor Who!!This changed my whole idea of what SCI-FI was(and that's a good thing, screw you george lucas)
Anyway it's 2004 an BSG is as new to me as Enterprise(ha ha) and I'm loving it.
Hey that's my silly SCI-FI history and I was only 6 years when all this started so don't hate me for not getting around to your cool and fun show till now.
LONG LIVE THE COLONIAL FLEET!

Captain Morgan,

Good to see that you got there in the end!
Did you like Doctor Who?
I did not realise that it could be seen over your side of the pond!

Sorrell,
A lot of the public tv stations run it as a later in the evening show here. I think channel 48 in Cincinnati has been running it for close to 20 years. There are even Dr. Who fanclubs that do some public service stuff and help man the phones for the public stations' pledge drives just to help keep it on the air.
I'm hoping they pick up the new one too, once Lionheart puts it out for syndication.
Captain Morgan:
was it the new series or the original BSG that pulled you in?
Welcome to the Fleets.

jewels,it's the old BSG that got me over to this great site.
My girlfriend brought home the DVD's from her work and said she thought it was
something I'd like!I haven't watched the new show yet but I don't think I'll like it
as much as the old show, but I'll look at it though.
oh I didn't really think about it but this topic should be in the Galactica Cafe.

Thanks for that info Jewels.
I did not realise that it would be that popular, especially these days with all the other sci-fi shows with their expensive sets and effects. It is great to know that big budgets need not be the deciding factors of a shows popularity.
