AMAZING TUTORIALS FROM kELLY KAT MEYERS
Hi everybody,
I guess that some of you already know about the tutorials from Kelly Kat meyers.
For those who doesn't, let me tell you that if you are trying to get deep in to a real decent footage for space opera. You must get them.
My space scenes have increased a lot following and understanding the workflow, technics and many more aspects.
If you could save some money I recommend you to buy them. By the way I'm not from Kurv Studio, so I'm not selling you this because I'm part of them.
I'm telling you this guys because we all want to have our footage look like new series, including camera movements
well, If any of you have any doubts about this 4 or 5 DVd's, I'll be glad to tell you if it's worth the money you'll spent.
So say we all Kat!

Re: AMAZING TUTORIALS FROM kELLY KAT MEYERS
I know this is a year old, but it is a plug for ???
Training,learning,CD's DVD's and where?
C4d,3ds,LW,Maya ?
Am always looking to learn, and have several avenues of buying training
programs.
THis requires googling........? hmmm.
First google returns this post. cant find it.
I did find the BSG vfx and liberty3d forums, but no tuts- links.
It seems it is in Lightwave. I must look into it too.
Well, I got to the forums of both BSG vfx and Liberty3d. Tuts for LW.
Again, y dint I start this 30 years ago. LOL

So much to learn , so little time, and so many ideas with so little knowledge and so much to discover with so many things to try.

Re: AMAZING TUTORIALS FROM kELLY KAT MEYERS
This was a series of training DVD's that were put out by Kurv studios but are no longer available since Myers lied about his credentials. So they pulled the product line from there site a long time ago. Some of the stuff i seen was pretty good but unfortunately he was not on the up and up.

Re: AMAZING TUTORIALS FROM kELLY KAT MEYERS
Hi,
I don´t know if Kat lied about his credentials, but you know what? I really don't care. What I'm sure is that his skills are outstandings and is a pitty that Kurv studios ended up with those awesome tutorials.
I'm lucky to have them and they are worth the money.
I hope that finally, a good master techincs prevail over if the artist has lied or not about whatever of his career.
I just wanted to add one more thing about this. We all want to learn and improve from the best and not only from who keeps their technics by themselves.
nothing else!

Re: AMAZING TUTORIALS FROM kELLY KAT MEYERS
I know this is an old topic and thread, but it piqued my interest as I'm going to give rendering a shot. I'd like to do a classic BSG fan film soon, and was looking for some good tuts. I visited the Battlestar VFX website and all of the tuts are gone. What's more, is that the guy that runs that site sure seems like a whiner. There's a whole entry from October that does nothing but show an unprofessional attitude. I'd still love to see the tuts, though. Does anyone here have any info on them? Are they still floating around out there?
Thanks!

Re: AMAZING TUTORIALS FROM kELLY KAT MEYERS
Actually for space scenes in max i use the Noise layer to make the stars
with settings size 0,2, high 0,7 low 0,65
Also added a smoke layer to the white color box of the stars.
and if you like to add a bit of nebula look, simply put in the black section (space) a smoke layer with size 60+ and a color of your choice.
It makes the space scenes already great.
The Windows of the battlestar ive bin testing a number of ways and sofar come up with a default layer with orange color and in effect a glow and ray effect.
The important is not to use in the default layer the light up effect as it messes the overall effects greatly.
the bad part about this is as the angle on your ship changes so does go lights on and of in your "Windows"
Tutorials on the internet are large and alot of options are given but i still like to try on my own as trail and error.
You get some strange results you might not need for that particular problem but for other things might work perfectly.
Its always an adventure to try out new settings and find a new effect for something totaly diffrent.

Thanks, Gunther!
I'll be doing most of my work in Adobe After Effects and Premiere, but need to find a good "free" 3-D rendering program for some stuff.

DAZ has some of it apps going for free.
have a look on this thread.... I think they are free until the 17th of this month (Feb).
There is also blender which is free and I am hearing some very good things about it.
There is always TrueSpace. but I think that is a on its way out as it no longer really supported.
