George Murdock ("Dr. Salik") has passed
Thanks to Richard Hatch's Facebook page, I learned today that the fantastic actor George Murdock passed away last Monday at 81. One Hell of a career, one Hell of an actor.
Rest in Peace...

That is sad. He was a good actor. Peace for his family.

George Murdock was perfect for the role of Dr. Salik.

His portrayal was spot-on and if fiction were reality, he's just the type of doctor that I would want, trying to save the life of one of my loved ones.

He played probably one of the best Admirals Star Trek ever had - went down with the Melbourne in "Best of Both Worlds" at Wolf 359. One of the few in the Starfleet Admiralty who didn't act either like a tool, arrogant idiot, treasonous lout or possessed by an alien insect bent on galactic domination. Very sorry to see him go.

Indeed sad to see him go. Good to see him in things like Ironside or even TJ Hooker but he was excellent in Galactica. Particular favourite is his exchanges with the council in the hangar bay in "Greetings from Earth".
RIP

IIRC, he also played "God" in Star Trek V - although I don't think he would have considered that his finest work in general.

I remember him from one or two. He did 7 episodes in total.
I also tend to remember actor's faces from these old shows.

No indeed. Took me a while to realise he was the same actor as Hanson purely as he's not quite recognisable as God.
He probably did better in that Colin Hanks film, Orange County

Re: George Murdock ("Dr. Salik") has passed
Very sad news.
A great actor, so many good roles. Saw him in an early episode of dead-zone a few years ago, absolutely brilliant. Poor George......
