I was going to say it's like the Trendmasters Viper. I bought my nephew one.
I take it you were on medication at the time you modelled it? (that's a joke!)

Don -
I do too.... The trendmasters toy was what came to mind when I saw this thread.

I never liked how the toy's fusalage seemed unfinished on the bottom. Like it was just cut in half. Didn't curve under.
I didn't mind the ships or the buff Cylon in this toyline. Very much in line with the comic book series of the time. Everything was on steroids.

David, yeah it was a unique model. I still have the thing in my closet.
Taranis i did make textures for it a while back but for some reason i can't find the darn file!
I'll keep looking.

It does seem to have kind of a 'toy' feel to it, but it could clean up well with some textures and bump maps--wings seem a bit out of proportioon though

This reminds me far too much of the Captain Power spaceships. Yes, its art, but it doesn't do anything to inspire the belief that it would actually be a REAL fighting craft. Yes, I know we're all talking about a fantasy/sci-fi universe here, but to my eye this design doesn't look "sturdy" enough to qualify as Colonial technology. It just looks fast. But thats it. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't look like it could deliver a serious punch.

Vipers are meant for Speed and precision, not Mega Punches. That's what Galactca's Missles and Gun turrents are for!

I don't often find a variation on the Viper theme that I don't like, so my opinion is a little biased, but I really like this one. Too bad I've never seen the physical model it is based on. I'd love to see this finished, too. It seems to me this would make a good stepping stone between the TOS Vipers and the ones in the new series.

I wasn't talking about a howitzer... I was talking about a .22 cal versus a .45 !
