And now for something very different from me. A true story I just heard.
My young cousin just moved into a a new home. And that night things began to go wrong. Her foster child kept coming into her room, riddled with fright, saying there was someone else in the room with her. A presence that paralyzed her with fear. My cousin dismissed it of course. But nevertheless her foster daughter got no sleep at all. And neither did my cousin whom she kept waking up to ask for help.
My cousin's 11 month old baby was sleeping peacefully in the other room.
I guess it was the next night, they switched rooms. And suddenly it was my cousin who felt the presence. She had never felt paralyzed like that before. To keep an eye on her baby, she laid the child next to her in bed instead of in the other room. Almost immediately, her baby sat up again and again, frightened of something and staring wide eyed around the room.
And scariest of all, in the middle of the night my cousin was awakened by singing -- a baby, her baby, was sitting up singing in what she swears were perfect words.
What was scary about that?
Her baby isn't talking yet...
