i am watching the john walsh show, late night tv and in the background. some people went to kenya and somehow they wound up doing the time warp from the rocky horror picture show, for national georgraphic channel.

they were out in front of this tribe and teaching the the time warp. not sure why but thought it was funny. now if they can get tim curry in drag again that would be great. hell i would fly to kenya to see it.

now i am going to have to watch the rocky horror picture show tonight. i know the tape is nothing compaired to in a theater but they dont show it here anymore.

I had friends in high school that were part of a local production of this back where I moved from last year. Never did get to see it because there was always something else I was doing!

I saw it in the theater once. On that day ..............they were having a
costume contest. I wore a black long sleeved Tee shirt with the words

i remember the first time i saw it. when everyone started doing the time warp i was like "what the heck is going on?" but by the time the end credits rolled i was hooked. we use to go and see it every week end. i never got to see it in live theater mode but once a month they would act it out in front of the screen. through out the year about 30-40% of the audience would glam up a bit, but on halloween everyone did. that time was real fun.

I know what you mean about the time warp. I had a couple of the guys in
line teach me how to do it. I haven't seen it in live theater mode either .......but
I loved it when it was acted in front of the screen.

I know what you mean about the time warp. I had a couple of the guys in

did anyone see the sequel of rocky horror? it was a show called "shock treatment". it was not as good as rocky horror in my opinion, but it was just as crazy.

I saw The ROcky Horror Picture show In a MOVIE theater ..........never live
cept when it was acted 'out' infront of the screen ...........never saw the

i remember when you went through the door at the theater you were asked three questions, if you answered any wrong you had to go up on stage and do the time warp in front of everyone. (rookies beware)

braxiss that sounds like fun I don't recall that although I went with a very experienced viewer so...I do recall all the wonderful constumes and was so impressed that everyone new their parts and dialogue so well. And all the rice,toast, water.. I wouldn't want to be ther poor saps who had to clean that mess up afterwards. but lots of fun to watch. ok, next time it's shown in town I have to go!

everyone .........but I do remember alot of people who would
deliberately answer the question wrong so they could do that.

There was one time they had about 15 people answer the ? wrong ..........
so they had a line dane of the Time Warp on stage .........it was soooooo
fun ...........No I wasn't up there ..........

he worked in the theater where the Rocky horror picture show was showing ........

He finally took a job that payed alot less ..............he claimed it was less
money .........but alot less WORK...............at the time I thought he was nuts...............

We had what was probably the most beautiful movie theatre in the state. Chandeliers, you name it. Biggest screen I'd ever seen except for IMAX which came later.

And then Rocky Horror came to town. Ran for months, every night at midnight (sadly, I never went, really wish I hadn't missed it). By the end of the run, the screen was destroyed and the theatre in shambles. I don't think they ever really recovered. It closed about a year later.

I finally got to see it on TV, but I know it's not the same. When ST IV hit the theatres it was like a roller coaster ride in the audience as we waited for the film to start. Maybe that was kinda what Rocky Horror was like(?)

I think it's neat when stuff like that come out and people just have fun socially without all the "invisible barrier" nonsense. We as a society need more events like that to realize how much fun it is just to be alive, and be happy we have others to share that joy with.

I haven't seen ST IV. but it's fun because it's full audience participation they the audience as a group yell out certain lines back at the screen , they throw stuff in the air in unison (like when they say here is a toast everyone throws toast in the air, the other items were deck of cards, noise makers, squirt guns, party hats, newspapers, and rice) they are all dressed as their favorite character, and then they have a bunch of people on stage in front of the screen acting out the whole movie, it's quite something to see, a real bonding fest, for fans.

I know the one that showed RHPS where we were was ...........for THAT Reason
too................... But it was fun.

Yes Gaelen, the theatre closed in part due to the damage from RHPS. They were already hurting financially cuz back in those days theatres had to /bid/ for the good films, and if they didn't have considerable financial backing like Syufy and AMC, they simply didn't have a chance to get any good films.

RHPS was both good and bad for them. Yes it gave them a good steady audience, but they never expected the theatre-goers to trash the place. I went one time after RHPS and was so sad to see the damage. They simply couldn't afford to fix it so they closed. *Sigh* So sad for me cuz I had great childhood memories of that place...

You know Muffit I can't believe I forgot this (getting old) but the theater in Montreal that hosted it also closed and the show was it's last ditch effort to stay alive. It was a historic building everyone had a fit but we couldn't stop them closing it.

That's horrible that a historic building could not be saved from closing ............
but considering the fact that is was 'hosting' THAT MOVIE ...........I'm not
too surprised ....................I wander if there's a curse on the movie theaters
that hosted THAT Movie?
