Odd - I don't recall the name Mark Verheiden on any credit list for producer of BSG. I thought it was pretty much Glen Larson & Donald Bellasario.
I'm going to go dig out my DVD set and check it out, just to make sure, but I don't remember him being associated with BSG.
Was this for Saga, or one of the special releases of combined 2-part episodes?
I am known for my sublety.

Check the credits for the current run of the show. Verheiden was not involved with the earlier BSG. If your interest lies primarily with the earlier BSG, perhaps that's why you don't recall seeing Verheiden's name.

Sorry, Jeff - I guess I was a bit too subtle. I know who he is.
But this site does not cater to the viewers of the show he works on. You might try the Sci-Fi Channel's site (but put on your waders if you do). Here, we're about art and 1978's Battlestar Galactica, which we hope to see returned. We don't discuss that other show.
I do wonder, though, if you have any other science fiction entries in your festival; your website doesn't list who will be there or what films will be shown.

Mark Verheiden appearance
Dawg:
We didn't have a separate category for science fiction, but that's on the schedule for next year. We received more than 310 entries, of which maybe a handfull could have been classified as science fiction. I'd love to have seen some of the great fan films entered, for example, but we'll push that angle for the festival next time.
Verheiden will be presenting a talk on how to take a story idea from notes on a napkin all the way to the screen.
As for hoping for the return of the original series, well ... good luck!
Best regards,
Jeff Johnston
