YEP I remember them I enjoyed the Time Tunnel it was a great show, land of the giants I remember seeing some of them but not all, cool show though.

Does anyone remember Monkey or Monkey Magic on in the 80s
Red Dwarf is another one that I really enjoyed, great humour and a intresting if disturbing concept "The last surviving human is a space Bum" who hang around
all day drinking beer, eating curries with popadoms and telling people to Smeg off.
hmm where do i sign up

I was passionately in love with Wizards and Warriors! And was so upset when they took it off the air (Have one audio tape and that’s all to remember it by)

but this show was fantasy really not Sci Fi

Anyone remember the old 80's series "Quark"? It was cheesy, but funny nonetheless

There was a Canadian Sci Fi show that was on in the early/mid 70's called The Starlost wich was partially based on a book that Harlan Ellison wrote. It only ran one season and it's major drawback was that it was shot on video tape and the SFX shots were based on "chroma key" technology. It was interesting to watch even though the production values were low.

I always wonder why someone doesn't re-make something like that - so few people would remember it well. I always thought the show would have done much better if it had a bigger budget behind it and had more time to develop. I know that some episodes were available in VHS compilation sets. I wouldn't mind seeing them again. I've got tapes of Space Academy and Ark II on my shelves - I know that the stories were better than those even if the SFX weren't.

Best,
Bryan

Hey potemkin
It's was a very tongue in cheek show I was very funny, campy, an odd mixture of wizards, magic, royalty and took place in medieval setting but full of terms and comments that were of todays world so it was always pretty crazy! here is a link to it if your interested

ok that was fun just listened to the theme music ah memories, there are many screen captures , and audio clips of the dialogue, as well to look at and a ton of info.

Thanks Rowan for that link to 'Starlost.' I have been looking for that title for decades. It was my absolute favorite show even above 'UFO' when I was a little kid. You're a champ!

Rowan -

Ditto on the link - I knew that they were for sale at Amazon.com a while back but forgot about it. I did check on eBay and there were 5 complete sets of the 5-tape sets for sale at 45.99. I kept on checking elsewhere on the net and found sets as cheaply as 41.99 - hey every penny matters when you're not working!

I actually got Quark around here if anyone wants me to make an avatar or something.

I loved that show when I was little. I really like the spaceship. But then I LOVED any spaceship back then! Garbage collectors in space? Hmmm....

One bit a trivia I learned from the great Michael Faries, the original idea for a new Battlestar Galactica that Bonnie Hammer came up with was to have a big huge ship, with all these biodomes, and the cast would travel from dome to dome having adventures. She was trying to get a Stargate like show while avoiding the "spaceship" angle as much as possible. I guess she never saw StarLost.

btw- Anyone REmember that NBC show Project Bluebook? It was on for two seasons.

Default Voyagers

Does anyone remeber the time travel show Voyagers? It only lasted one season from 1982 to 1983, but I used to love that show. I wanted one of those time travel watches so bad!

I remember it. But didn't it end when the main actor tragically die?

No it was cancelled. The main actor was on another show, with the song I Need A Hero as the theme, and he shot himself in the head with a gun with a blank, and died from the paper being shot into his brain.

I was a big fan of that show too, I'm surprised to hear it wasn't on longer it seemed it lasted longer than that to me. Another one poped into my head Mathew Star...

I remember! I use to love the theme song for some reason! I remember really wanting that amulet of his.

The name kinda slips my mind, but he was later on Star Trek Wrath of Khan as Ricardo Montalban's right hand guy.

Default the crying kid on Voyagers

Voyagers was another favorite! You guys are killing me with nostalgia!

That show got me interested in time travel stories for years after. I do remember the kid was always crying about something, behavior which my twelve year old self thought was 'immature'. Heh heh.

OK. A very long time ago (for me, too long for some of you), was an adventure show called Men Into Space. I got into a dispute with a little friend of mine once, who claimed that nobody had actually gone to the moon yet, and I didn't believe him. This was about 1959, when I was, oh, six.

Anything by Gerry Anderson, but especially Fireball XL-5.

Does anybody besides me think that Automan was a real hoot? Watched it faithfully every week.

Oh, and Star Blazers, but there's a thread devoted to that one somewhere else.

Finally, is there another Old Timer who can remember a cartoon called Colonel Bleep? (No, this was back in the days when nobody thought it meant that. The title referred to the noises the alien colonel made. This was back when a major popular show could feature a kid named Beaver Cleaver and nobody thought it was off-color. Oh, those were innocent days!)

Speaking of Man from Atlantis, there was also "Return of Captain Nemo". Two modern day Navy Officers were on a training mission (diving) and found the famous sub with Nemo in suspended animation. Burgess Meredith played the evil Professor.

Loved the movies. Though the series got kinda weird. But atleast he got to keep the sub Cetecean.

Tom -

I did the "swimming" thing too It took me a while, but I found out that style of swimming was called a "dolphin kick".... My mom thought that I had gone mental - I prefer to think of it as an overactive imagination!

I used to jump off the 6 foot block wall at the back of the yard when I was watching The Six Million Dollar Man too.......

Later,

How about "Otherworld? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088587/

I was so in love with Tony O'Dell! I remember it as being a good show, but I was only 14 when it aired & it could have been my hormones talking.
