New Studio Scale Models and other Great models on the way!!
Hey everyone,
Just have to drop a quick line and announce that Michael miles artistry has been too busy the past year and we are still not caught up as of yet. Been in galleries and expanding my artistry business with blueprinting and scratch building masters to mold and introduce to the Battlestar collectors world. Our models are reasearched from hundreds of photos and exact measurements are sized just right. Blueprinted and then of to be molded. The first one to be offered is the studio scale desanto viper. Lots of photos and research went into this and here she is about finished. She will be more affordable in price compared to the other resin kits and the detail is correct. It will feature pilot with upgraded warrior helmet and detailed interior that we suggest that you fiber optic. The price $ 95.00
The shuttle will be 10 inches in length and will feature quite a bit of the major details but left a bit bare for the modelers to add their own details and have fun searching out the various parts to complete. We are also going to offer a 29inch galactica, more on this, with pics later. Pre-orders will soon be taken on e-bay through seller i.d. zombiebutt. Read our rating and you’ll know for fact that we deliver the goods. See you on the launch deck!
See ya on the launch deck.

Well, those are looking quite nice. Keep us appraised of the progress. I'm in for a desanto viper when it's ready.

Partial Answer
Hi Ernie... I don't know anything about licensing but I do know something about the painting. BlueSquad2001 is the boyfriend I mentioned in my first post. He is working on that painting right now, sitting directly behind me. It's something he made up to look like a poster to advertise for the fleet. He got the idea from old WWII recruit posters and thought it would be fun to make one for BG. He thinks he will have it finished by 9:00 tonight but I think he is being too optimistic! LOL! He also started an oil painting last year but never finished it. When he gets ready, he'll get it back out. I'll ask him to post an image of this painting when he gets it completed. The woman in the painting now has hair and part of her outfit is done.
Thanks for your interest. This really keeps BlueSquad2001 motivated to do more.

Thanks for posting the image. This is an amazing talent you (or your boyfriend?) have. Have you ever considered creating a comic or animation ?

Thank You
Thanks Ernie... It's my boyfriend's work, not mine. I wish I had that kind of talent. I paint too but nothing like this. One time we thought he was going to get to do a comic, but it turned out to be somebody just trying to rip him off. Maybe he could answer your questions better than I am, but he is busy painting right now. LOL...

AMBERSTAR!!! Good to see you again. I'm glad your still here.

Best of luck...... And Ernie, there are no (OFFICIALLY LICENSED) Galactica model products available period at this point and time. You can visit StarShip Modeler.com and buy StudioScale Vipers $150.00 and Cylon Raiders $350.00 as well as a few other things related, but they are ALL fan made. That's why they are cast in resin, but so much higher detail and quality than MASS produced and licensed kits. Get ready for your DeSanto pre-order... WE DELIVER!

Wow, that painting is pretty awesome as are the models!!! I'd also say that the female warrior in the picture needs a slightly 'larger' warrior tunic!!!!

Okay Warrior, here are close-ups of the engine details, with size comparison of TOS Studio Scale. It's a little bigger and longer, but sleeker.

Ah yes... yours goes straight instead of curved like mine does-
The studio scale doesn't have it fully defined yet, but shows a hint of curvature (lower left corner)
While the full scale model doesn't have it defined at all yet
And the painting does not show it at all, so it's pretty much useless

After looking at those again, mine looks like it *SHOULD* have gone straight.

A 29-inch Galactica?
Wow, that's over 1/3 the size of the filming miniature.
I want one, now!

We have gotten started on the 29 inch as well as the 40inch and we are deciding which to do? I want to do both, but keep costs down. The 29 inch will be priced at $300.00 not bad for an enormous undertaking such as the Galactica. We have to make sure of the details as well as the correct angles. The 40 inch will be around 375.00 per model, but that is real heavy resin casting.
And yes, these are LOW PRICED! Most people would charge many times more than this.

I see, like me, you've opted to be reasonable in your pricing! Good on ya!
All the stuff I'm making... the props and odd bits of ephemera... are all being done because I CAN and I want to
keep the original series alive for the next crop of fans who come along. That, and making sure that the powers-that-be aren't
ignoring the fandom alltogether. When a fandom keeps generating cool stuff like those models, it goes LONG way to keeping old folks interested
and attracting new folks to the fandom.
Good work there!
BTW: I prefer the curve.

What you're doing Gordon, and the other BSG TOS websites, and anyone working on art, or stories or fan films are all keeping the dream alive.
You had to be around at the time, but before Galactica, there was nothing of that scale on TV, not Star Trek, Land of the Giants, anything. BSG was an event, and something that's never really been attempted since.
