Battlestar Galactica 1978 Celestra Completed

Celestra Completed ?? No. But I have gone as far as I can .. My Texturing leaves a lot to be desired, But having said that I am pleased at the results

It is after all my second Model (so please don't shot)

The Textures are Magma's and with his permission I will be releasing the mesh with them . If The texturing is bad , that's because of my lack of skill not Magma's Textures ....

There is perhaps a few things yet to be done or could be done .. but not now .I want to move on to the other ships in the Rag Tag Fleet .. until i finally think I am ready for the Galactica(TOS) ..

Don't beat yourself up, bro, that really looks great.

I've always had a special place in my heart for that ship. My only complaint is that they didn't feature it enough on the original Galactica.

As for texturing, you can do weathered panels like that using only Windows Paint and Gimp. All you have to do is paint some overlapping rectangles in Paint, replicate it to whatever size you want in Gimp and add some light noise and a layer of solid noise with alpha transparency and layer transparency to make it look weathered.

I tried Gimp after reading one of your post on 3DG and I downloaded it.. for some reason it crashes on me ? no Idea why .. but Manga from Lightwave Group .. allowed me to us his .. normally you have to download from there and add them later .. but I had to craft these for the Celestra ..

I Started the prison barge ..

Did you get both the Gimp runtime environment and Gimp 2.0 files? You have to have both for it to work.

Love to see a little more light just to see the model better, I know space is dark but put it close to a star, show off that detail

I have learned that some lightwaver cannot use the model for some reason .. as its save in LW8.3 and any the you below that have trouble .. there also seam to be other issues with it .. while it works perfectly well on my LW but not others ..

this is very disappointing for me .... I was hoping to share this will all, that would want it .. but my ambition exceeded my talent ..
