2nd season...
Have you all read Susan Paxton's review of that supposed synopsis of what a BSG 2nd season would have possibly looked like???
No Tigh, Sheba, Boxey, Muffit. Apollo goes crazy for women and Starbuck is the trusted one!!!
I wonder if that second season really would have been all that good if this document is the truth...

Have you noticed the similarity to the Galactica 1980 helmet?
This was used later in the series as a motorcycle helmet and also for the Daggit Viper Squadron members.
To be honest, I like the square jaw better. But I like anything BG. And its interesting to see what may have been introduced in the second year.

Actually I think that helmet is pretty cool too. But that black one would have been so awesome to have been seen in action. Of course, maybe that's just because I like black. My whole wardrobe is black!

That IS the G80 helmet, only in black. Look at them side-by-side. All the details are the same.

Are you sure Dawg?
Look closely at the mouth piece, the G80 one looks streamlined and smooth while the black one looks like it has lines, or corners. I could be wrong.

Yes, I'm sure, jj.
If you look really closely at the very front of the chin piece of the gold helmet, you can see the vertical line where the edge is.
It's a difference in lighting, that's all.
It's the same helmet.

hmmm
Yeah I can see the edges now.
But the G80 one seems longer from head to chin, the black one seems more spherical. But his could just be due to the angle it was shot at.

It must be the angle. G80 had such a tight budget that I can't imagine them spending much money to alter the design much.

So you think G80 just repainted the "Second Season" helmets? It would explain that while althoough I can see the edges in the mouthpiece of the G80 helmet, they are lessened. As though they've been covered by a layer of laquer or something.

I think they probably just re-used the molds. Once you got the molds, making a new helmet is fairly affordable.
