for all to read
Hello everybody, my life turned for the worse today, I lost my familys house. I have been unemployed since march and had been unable to locate a new job. I feel like I let them down so much. I don't know where we are going, but with god's help and prayer maybe we will find somewhere.

Been there, deckape, and, trust me, it will ultimately work out for the best - it worked out OK in the end for me (same basic circumstances, in fact).
What do you do?
Anyway, best wishes, good luck - and I'm thinking positive thoughts for you. Keep us posted, OK?

I'm sorry to hear of your situation, Deckape. I am a firm believer that the Lord never gives us more than we can handle. It just seems that way sometimes. Don't despair, you WILL land on your feet.
Have you checked some of the online job-search sites?
2 that come to mind are --
www.monster.com
www.hotjobs.com
Hopefully, these will be helpful.
You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Deckape,
I saw this post and had to reply. I have 2 suggestions:
1)If you are a veteran the VA might be able to help you.
2)Depending on the type of forclosure and the laws of your state sometimes the property can be saved.

Federal bankruptcy laws also allow some property to be retained. A good BK lawyer will be able to explain how it works.

In deed Federal bankruptcy can provide a very tight sheald but you cannot forgive a mortgage, the home would have to be sold. But all other debts can be done away with.

It would depend on the amount of equity in the home, if I remember right. If the numbers work out right, he might be able to retain the house. I don't know because the BK laws changed not long ago, so he'd have to talk to a BK lawyer.
And you're right, you can't forgive a mortgage, but you can reaffirm it if the equity numbers are right.
