So with creative re-working of the episode order, since we only had one season to work with, you can have a complete story from start to finish.
This came from talking to a friend of mine yesterday and talking about the Eastern Alliance and Terra. How crazy that the Galactica came across this race that was space ferring and yet because they are told that is not Earth, they leave.
Stupid!
Looking over the episodes you have the episodes where they are meeting the Eastern Alliance, episodes dealing with Baltar, and at some point a cut off of the Cylons till Hand of God.
So here is the list...
* 1.01 Saga of a Star World (3 hours)
* 1.02 Lost Planet of the Gods, Part I
* 1.03 Lost Planet of the Gods, Part II
* 1.04 The Lost Warrior
* 1.05 The Long Patrol
* 1.06 The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part I
* 1.07 The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part II
* 1.08 The Magnificent Warriors
* 1.09 The Young Lords
* 1.10 The Living Legend, Part I
* 1.11 The Living Legend, Part II
* 1.12 Fire in Space
* 1.13 War of the Gods, Part I
* 1.14 War of the Gods, Part II
* 1.15 The Man with Nine Lives
* 1.16 Murder on the Rising Star
* 1.17 Greetings from Earth (2 hours)
* 1.18 Baltar's Escape
* 1.19 Experiment in Terra
* 1.20 Take the Celestra
* 1.21 The Hand of God
Galactica 1980
* 1.10 The Return of Starbuck
-------------------------------------------
These are the episodes that that we can work with, so just arrange them a bit and you get this...
* 1.01 Saga of a Star World (3 hours)
* 1.02 Lost Planet of the Gods, Part I
* 1.03 Lost Planet of the Gods, Part II
* 1.04 The Lost Warrior
* 1.05 The Long Patrol
* 1.06 The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part I
* 1.07 The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part II
* 1.08 The Magnificent Warriors
* 1.09 The Young Lords
* 1.10 The Living Legend, Part I
* 1.11 The Living Legend, Part II
-------You gain the Pegasus crew (Sheba, Bojay etc)
* 1.12 Fire in Space
* 1.13 War of the Gods, Part I
* 1.14 War of the Gods, Part II
-------- Angelic beings show up.
* 1.15 The Man with Nine Lives
-------- The Borellians show up, later in Baltar's escape
* 1.16 Murder on the Rising Star
-------- This episode could be about anywhere after the Pegasus story. Would almost put before Hand of God as fluff to give credence to the "haven't seen the Cylons in a while"
* 1.17 Greetings from Earth (2 hours)
-------- Eastern Alliance are captured, later in Baltar's Escape.
* 1.18 Baltar's Escape *
* 1.10 Redemption (The Return of Starbuck )
-------- Cylons shown. Obviously edit out Dr. Zee and all that Felter Carb (See "Redemption" on Youtube). This episode would also explain how Starbuck was able to help Apollo in his all white outfit in "Experiment in Terra"
1.21 The Hand of God
-------- Last appearance/ blockade of the Cylons.
-------- ancient signal, which as a regular signal would take at least hundreds of years to reach even a neighboring star system. Fitting, since they are at least a star system away from Terra in the reworked order.
* 1.20 Take the Celestra
-------- Fluff episode.
* 1.19 Experiment in Terra
-------- To me the weakest episode in the series, but a fitting end. They find Terra (which would normally mean "Earth"). Apollo undercover tries to help broker peace, and when that fails, the Galactica comes sweeping in and saves the day. Why the force field when it is not shown in the rest of the series?
Galactica had to pull out the stops of course using all that energy and all that fuel jumping to light speed.
Good thing their quest is over.
Yep, just edit out where Apollo asks that question "
Is this Earth" and voila! They made it! They found the 13th colony, a space ferring world that they would have to settle differences with, but should push come to shove, an ally to help fight the Cylons IF they ever found them again.
Well, more than likely WHEN, but we can be optimistic.
Certainly a better "Earth" than what they found in second season.
