ROTJ Missing Lightsabre Scene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdJ0E7HbTKc
Apparently, the upcoming release of the Star Wars movies on Blu-ray will have a host of missing scenes like this one on them.

Re: ROTJ Missing Lightsabre Scene
No Prob I was interested in seeing myself .... it does give an added depth to the Vader and Luke relationship.

Re: ROTJ Missing Lightsabre Scene
It shouldn't be in the film. When Luke comes to the Jabba's palace everyone will know who that mysterious hooded person is.
Have a look at the last scenes in Revenge of the Sith. The viewer is told those two born children are Luke and Leia. Then we go through the classic films and when we watch Return of the Jedi there's no surprise at all when brother and sister discover it.

Re: ROTJ Missing Lightsabre Scene
@Benedict: Certainly; that's why scenes get cut -- it seemed like a good thing to shoot at the time, but when you plug it into the rest of the story, it throws it all off-kilter.
Really, no one watching the SW movies for the first time should see them in numerical order, for precisely the reasons you outline - Luke and Leah aside, the "I AM YO' DADDY!!!" scene in TESB loses ALL of its impact if you've already seen Ep.3.
The best thing they could POSSIBLY do for the prequel series is to insert a "Luke Returns To Yavin's Moon" sequence into the very beginning of Ep.1, and have him find a data crystal/Jedi holocron "recorded by Obiwan to tell Vader's tale"....

Re: ROTJ Missing Lightsabre Scene
The scene looked recently made, and in truth, quite amateurish. Sure, it might be put into the RotJ blu-ray, but I think it will really look out of place.
It has that same feel as when Darth Vader says: "Alert my star destroyer to prepare for my arrival" in the SE of Empire Strikes Back. It feels forced (no pun intended.)
That said, I do hope they do restore some genuinely "out taken" scenes to the movies...and not just ones recently manufactured and called "missing scenes".
Granted, Luke constructing his lightsaber in Obi-Wan's hovel was a scene that may have been written for RotJ (indeed, it was a scene in the novelization movie tie-in, and it was elaborated on in detail in the Radio Drama of RotJ), but this just smacks of "new footage made to look like a missing scene."
