Costuming and Props Section
Well as suggested by Gemini1999, let us start this topic here.
For those of us who would like to discuss costuming and props, ideas on forming a 501st type group that is TOS BSG, post your ideas and comments here.

Re: Costuming and Props Section
Right on! We'll have to move some of the other threads over here! We should start threads for individual props and costume pieces!

Re: Costuming and Props Section
definately moving some fo the posts, and keeping them on topic. I'd say splitting those cou[le of posts I made into several different ones.
Also, as a note, I sent the numbers to Wilco, and I'm expecting to hear back from Bill in the next couple of days on what the prices will be.
Here's to the start of arming our numbers!!!

Re: Costuming and Props Section
Since this is the only home for discussing Costumes and Props, I'll place this here. I've got a tad more done on this than the update shows, but I didn't really think a picture of a flowery pants mock-up would be very interesting, so I didn't bother taking a picture of that. Here is my progress on the uniform for Mark: BSG Uniform Update #2

Re: Costuming and Props Section
I keep thinking of new things (can you tell I'm excited about classic BSG props and costuming?!!)
(yeah, I wanted to comment on the "TOS BSG"...whenever I see "TOS" I think of Star Trek...I usually refer to the original series of Battlestar Galactica as "Classic BSG".)
Anyway, I had ordered trim for Mark's and my uniforms and it arrived today! I'm so glad there is a vender out there that still makes and sells the black and gold checked trim!! They used to offer the black and silver, but it would require an order of almost 3,000 yards of trim in order for the mill to do it. I'm not planning on putting out that kind of money!!

Re: Costuming and Props Section
Glad to hear The 2 costumes are coming alone (well the collection of materials for your's lol )
I need to get off my astros and send my boots up to Boston to get reworked and then returned, and I should be ordering a Jacket within the next month. TO get the soft parts started. Witheh Laser/Recharge cylinders/ Languatron project in the works, I think we have a goud group start.
This might be a perfect place to start collecting our resourses, And invite the prop people we know.

Re: Costuming and Props Section
Well, technically, the Muffit isn't a costume.
We do have the start to a great costuming/prop group going. Can't wait to have more info as a resource for others who are interested but not sure where to go.

Re: Costuming and Props Section
EXCELLENT IDEA!!!
One thing I'd love to see added here is solid reference info/pics (ie accurate, detailed measurements on the Flight Helmet, Costume Patterns, source links for Jacket Buckles, etc.)
Some of the "relicator" sites want an arm and a leg for stuff I could make myself, and have fun doing it.
I have wanted to build a Flight Helmet for the longest time, but the "kits" I've found were wonky at best, and the wanted a small fortune for them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of folks making a profit, but.
Monolith, I LOVE the idea of a 501st style group! Let the opposition stare down a wall of Colonial Warriors

Not sure if you were interested, but there is an open order thread for Lasers, Recharge cylinders and Languatron kits.
If you want or need any of these, it's still not too late to get involved
there is alot of excitment right now with the formation of the Costuming group. If for no other reason then to unite the people already out there, and to promote more of it

Re: Costuming and Props Section
I'm glad you're on board for this Lord Starfyre! It has been a flurry of ideas for the past week. Almost too many but in a good way! Now just to organize it all into sections and get this thing going!
I started assembling the very list you speak of yesterday. It should be ready to go withing a few days. It'll be cool to finally get all these resources together in one spot!

Re: Costuming and Props Section
Monolith, that is a great list you have there!
additons - Baltar! Both his council robes and that Renn Faire like outfit he wears as commander of the basestar. I know he has a standard Colonial laser and holster, but the holster is attached to a black leather belt with a center bar buckle. (Red Eye had a similar belt to hold the Colonial Laser he had)
for the Command costumes, you should have the standard blues, (very similar to the Warrior dress uniform in appearence) The over robe that Adama had on alot, and the cape that Adama added to be extra dressy. I'll have to watch Take the Celestra again, but I believe there was a Blue cape of a similar design to the warriors dress cape that Tigh wore. And the Necklass was silver instead of brass like the Warriors wore.
I believe, but need to watch Greetings from Earth again, that the Science and medical Tunics were VERY similar. I think it may have come down to patch differences. And both had Standard Warrior pants on.
Edit - oh, and MONEY!!! In Magnificent Warriors we see Cubits and gems being used as money, a few otehr types were mentioned as well. those would be nice props

Re: Costuming and Props Section
I totally forgot about Cylons and Baltar!!! lol
I know Gordon (Spcglider) used to have resin copies of the Orion Checks available. I'm sure this list is going to grow a lot bigger over time!

Added that to the list! Actually that made me wonder what else I missed. Keep those ideas coming so we can get this thing as packed as possible!
