Default 1/2 Studio Scale Galactica Build

Hey all! Decided to throw my build out there for all to see. It's going pretty well so far. Pieces generally fitting together nicely. I created a new sub-page off my main site that's dedicated to this. Enjoy!

Awesome. Are you going to light it? Doing any custom work on the landing bay? Looks great so far!

Oh yes! I got two rolls of .3mm fiber to light up the portholes and I got the Randy Cooper shuttle bay interiors. For the landing bay chasers, I will be using the circuity from one of those "snowfall" Christmas light systems. Much easier than soldering my own breadboard. I'm going all out on this one.

I am always blown away by the ability of physical modelers to work with microscopic pieces. Such amazingly steady hands and the nerves to go with it. I would be having panic attacks at the thought of making a mistake! Big money for all that tech.

Thanks all! Maudib, normally I would be there with you, but this one has been engineered so well by Mike Salzo, there really isn't as much to worry about as with other kits of this size. Almost all the surface detailing you see was put there already. Very little needed to be glued on top of the main body. Most of the extra non-attached pieces go underneath the head where it attaches to the neck at the upper/lower seam. Otherwise, I've been spending more of my time engineering this beast to be internally accessible after completion than putting it together. My next tasks will include drilling the light holes and laying out fiber.
