I saw an interview where he was asked why he was so good at being bad, and he answered "I don't know. But thank you."

Oliver Reed, was a grat actor I really liked him a lot :
the first film i say him in was "The League of Gentlemen (1960) before my time but I like films form that period.
then: Oliver! (1968) .... Bill Sikes
then: The Assassination Bureau (1969)
then: Hannibal Brooks (1969)
then: The Three Musketeers (1973)
his last fime was in Gladiator (2000) with Russell Crowe,
Oliver died while making it.
Oliver was also quite the hellriser, mad to be around and lived in the south of Ireland, and if some of the stories were true, I wish I was there

I got to work with Ollie in 1971 on Ken Russells ''The Devils'' and thought this was his best acting role,, A hellraiser he was and his motto was work hard play hard,,, (Reminded me of Robert Mitchum)

Hi Potemkin,,,
As I said on my web, Oliver was the first BIG film that I worked on and just to be a tiny cog in the big wheel was good for me,
I have seen the film a few times and can't see myself in the huge crowds but my wife and I had a few weeks on the production in the summer of 67 and the film came out in 68,,,
My wife is an ex Dublin girl and we've been together for 42 years and now my youngest son is living in Ireland with his Irish wife and two kids,,
(I've yet to visit)
Best wishes and a ''MERRY XMAS TO ALL''
Aitch,,,,,
