Only it's not, because....
I'm right.

They have a plan.
See, if sexuality was more relaxed in American media, advertising would find it more difficult to get our attention with hyper-sexual ads. Then The FCC & Network censors would be out of business.
And we would have seen Starbuck with his tunic off in the launch tube.
You know what comes next...
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Re: Serena or Sheba- which was/is a better match for Apollo?
Hi, all
I seriously did not intend to drop a grenade and run..
I am very sorry Senmut found my remark offensive. it was not intended that way. Senmut, please accept my apology for the distress I caused you.
I'm sure there are elements of Australian censorship that Americans find odd when watching Aussie shows/films. Certainly Australians can find their own censors 'odd' at times.. female nudity is subject to less rules than male nudity....
I do stand by the observation that US TV in the late 70s allowed a different degree of visual permissivness than UK, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand broadcasts. Down 'ere we had 'Number 96' on TV at 9pm after we watched married american couples on american sitcoms sleep in seperate beds with more clothes on than they wore in the 'day scenes'.
Even recently, the US media did a meltdown when Janet Jackson (i think it was her..) had a wardrobe malfunction at a televised superbowl concert... cheerleaders can show their knickers, but we can't see a flash of nipple.
US medical documentaries always come with extra fuzzy bits.. now that is 'quaint' .
Cheers,
Lara

Re: Serena or Sheba- which was/is a better match for Apollo?
The thing about Janet Jackson that ofended alot of people was that, it was later revealed, it was not a "malfunction", but was planned in advance. She had a new album to promote, and what better way to pump up sales than to generate some controversy. She made more on the album than was paid in any fines.

Yeah, it was planned. "OOPS" Still, more controversy than it warranted. But it worked due to the novelty.

AND Janet Jackson's celebrity. It would have done scant had it been an unknown.
