Rowan -
I had figured this out too.... It's probably better coming from you anyway.
You know how overenthusiastic some people can be!
Best,
Bryan

My name is a bit of an IQ test designed to weed the cylons out from the humans. You're all being tested, but I don't want you to think about that. Just act normal, pretend you don't know. And don't mind me taking notes... or when I look in your windows at night.

My next new toy....
Hey everyone -
I got my 2nd JoyRide BSG display model in the mail yesterday. This time, it was the Cylon Raider!
Like the Viper, it's an excellent display model with outstanding detail and paintwork. It's perfectly in scale with the Viper and even comes with 3 Cylon pilots!
The only criticisms I have for this model are small ones...
1) The "balancing" of the model on the display stand is somewhat precarious given the weight distribution of the Raider - it's a lot wider and heavier than the Viper model. Make sure that you put it in a place where it won't get bumped...
2) As I mentioned, there are 3 Cylon pilots - the "command" centurion is already seated in the model due to the location of his seat. The other 2 need to be placed in the cockpit, but this cockpit isn't easy to open like the Viper was. Also, when you put the 2 pilots in their seats, there isn't much to hold them in place, so they are prone to rattling around a bit.
3) I like the paintwork for the most part, but I don't remember so much black being used on the original Cylon Raider. I remember researching with a lot of pics when I built the Monogram/Revell model 25 years ago - where they used black on the JoyRide model, I remember various dark greys used.
All in all, a very neat little "toy" and it' right next to my JoyRide Viper!
I have ordered the Cylon Centurian figure as of today, so I should have that sometime next week...
Best,
Bryan

Glad to hear you got your Viper and Raider, Bryan.
I am now doing some FX shots with mine....for a (dramatic timpani hit) new, improved Dark Exodus teaser trailer. If only I had a higher resolution camera and better lighting.
Respects,
Martok2112

Paul -
That's not a better deal, it's exactly the same thing I bought, right down to the display stand!
I'd be interested in why you think it's a better deal....

Paid 19.99 for my Viper, that one is harder than bloody 'ell to find cheap. People were paying $36.00 and up on Epay for them. All told though, I love it, looks great I have no construction problems on mine, at all. However my cat did something with the third landing gear.....

https://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2642226
Battlestar Galactica: The Memory Machine
Author:* McKenzie, Roger
Editor:* Janson, Klaus
Illustrator:* Janson, Klaus
They will also be carrying Saga of a Star World:
I love the description on this:
Description (from the publisher or distributor)
Before Star Trek: The Next Generation, Farscape and Stargate SG-1, there was 1980s cult TV series Battlestar Galactica: the smash-hit sci-fi show that rocked the spaceways with its legendary stories, memorable villains and awesome hair styles!
This classic comic-strip adaptation tells the story of the very first episodes of the hit TV series. After a surprise attack by battle droids, the Cylons, the human race faces extinction. Now the last remaining warship, the Battlestar Galactica, leads a ragtag refugee fleet across a savage galaxy in a desperate search for that one glimmer of hope amongst the stars, the planet Earth!

I'm thinking of getting another Viper and Converting it into one of the ones from Saga, with the Conopy Sealed (really all you would need to do is paint it)

I bought mine yesterday on a daytrip to London. I gotta say judging by the sales, the old addage that people prefer the bad guys is wrong. In both Forbidden Planet and another shop where I expected to get them, they only had the Centurion and Raider, but no Viper. In the end, and after a long tube-ride and walk south of the river I went to a place I heard of on the net and managed to get one. But there was a heart-stopping moment when as I was paying for it an assistant said that they were only selling them as sets and that nobody wanted the Cylons. Fortunately after checking the number of Vipers in stock they let me have it, Phew. It now sits (with pilot in closed cockpit and no undercart, thus simulating flight) on a table by my living room window.
