I wasn't attacking their financial status .............or their Morals.
I was questioning their abilities to act. The fact is they don't have
the range in acting necessary for the roles they would be playing.
Everything they've acted in .............their expressions their voices .......
their movements are virtually MONETONOUS ..........they don't show
any depth to their acting as do other actresses that are the same age.
Hillary Duff on the other hand has a greater range of acting abilities.
She's believeable with out over acting. When she's sad on the screen
it's entirely believeable ............UNLIKE the olsen twins.
The twins are beautiful ..... I'll give them that.

I have to agree with SS on the Olsen twins. They have done so many roles geared to the 8-15 (or so) age group that their ability to do "adult" (no, I don't mean xxx stuff!) dramatic acting just isn't there. The best thing they could do is to split up and go their own ways. And they should start taking guest star roles on shows like Law and Order, CSI, or even the upcoming series based on the mini so they can learn to perform the roles they will need to be able to portay in the future.

Sheesh, my Olsen twins suggestion really hits home
My suggestion of the Olsen Twins in a BSG role was a half-joke but the more I think about it, the more I think the BSG producers could pull it off, and give the Olsens their first really serious adult (again not x-rated) roles. Not that they need it financially.
Anyway I'm seeing a lot of good suggestions here and lots of stuff that makes you think, even the doofustard stuff.
As for Morgan Fairchild, I had serious hots for her back in the early 1980s when she was a hot commodity. Haven't seen much of her since but a role for her as a Siress might just be a possibility.
Now back to the Web to see what Morgan's been up to lately.
Thanks and keep em coming. I'll start work on my CASTING CALL, THE MEN post.

Now a as Siress ...............casting with Morgan Fairchild that MIGHT be a possibility.
As for the Olsen twins ...........until they can improve their talent ........I saw NO WAY ..........not when they're are so many young actresses who are better
prepared and have more talent and range to play such a role.

An absolutely terrible idea. Any continuation that builds off the original series universe must be set a generation later with the original cast in supporting roles or else it's as unsatisfying as the miniseries is to me (or Richard appearing in the new version for that matter).

Borrow some ideas from Maximum Press(yes I love them--though Realm Press did a better job). Promote Boomer to Col. then give him(and Dietra--deceased ) a daughter, Cleo.
Marsha Thomason("Las Vegas", "Black Knight") can be Cleo ( fine and with a British accent=sexy !)

Seems to me you'd *really* guarantee box office success if Halle Berry were cast as Boomer's daughter, playing the hotshot pilot who learned everything from her father and from Starbuck.

Two more Young Female Colonial Warriors added
Here's two more Colonial Warriors to add to the Squadron:
Lindsay Lohan: This girl has some incredible eyes and a fighting spirit. Hard to believe she's the same girl from The Parent Trap remake. All grown up now and should be about the right age by the time filming starts. And the more "mean girls", the better.
and whoever that blonde chick, the American Idol runner-up was.

Olsen Twins? Lyndsay Lohan? Amanda Bynes? Why not just bring in the Back Street Boys to play Blue Squadron. Please.
Now as for realistic possibilities for ladies who can actually act:
Mila Kunis - Jackie from that 70's show
Sarah Polley - usually does indy film until Dawn of the Dead also very talented
Katie Holmes - a very nice Maren Jensen type girl who can act
Serena Williams - tough, pretty and already dabbling into acting- who better to play a warrior?
Lacey Chabert - TV and film credits under her belt including sci fi in Lost in Space.
Kate Beckinsale - good actress, adds maturity
As for some male actors:
Seann William Scott - Stiffler from American Pie, reminds me of starbuck a bit
Ron Livingston - Band of Brothers
Donny Whalberg - Also B.O.B
Don Chito - great actor
Oh well I've run out of ideas, but a mixture of different ages in the actors would be cool, and more reflective of life in the fleet.

Shouldn't that be sororal twins? Since they are girls, it would be kind of tough for them to be fraternal anything.

Hillary Duff would make a good Starbuck offspring.

OK, another name to add.
I'm adding Lindsay Lohan (age 18) to my Ladies Casting Call list.
At the risk of being a Dirty Old Man, I have to say she is a babe.

A couple quick updates & replies here since some folks have come up with some intriguing actress suggestions:
Lori Loughlin: She's now cast in the WB series "Summerland" and she's still got her looks, albeit a decade or so older now since her time in "Full House". A distinct possibility.
Lacey Chabert: Definite hottie. God I'm starting to feel old, last I saw her, she was (looked) all of 12 years old in the LIS movie. I know she's had some roles since and now so yes, a definite.
And I don't care what anyone says, Lindsay Lohan is hot.

I have to agree here, Lacey Chabert was just plain drop dead adorable in LIS. In fact, she's the only reason I can think of for rewatching LIS. She was the one person who seemed real in her part, and I thought she was perfect (if replacing Angela Cartwright had to be done at all). Found myself unconsciously smiling at her personal video shenanigans! .
Heather Donahue would be stellar as a likeably unlikeable cast member as well. She just plain oozes talent, IMHO.
For the male roles, I will have to think a bit; no one really stand-outish comes readily to mind. Hmm...

Oh that would be the stuff of Guys dreams...
To have Lacey Chabert, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes & Kaley Cuoco in the BSG Contiuation would be the stuff of young guys dreams (and us older guys as well).
Course Morgan Fairchild, Raquel Welch & Lori Loughlin would give us older guys something to look at as well.
You know if they do this right, this movie could be big, real big.
