And now for something completely different
During the spring of 1940, the German Blitzkrieg exploded upon the armies of France and England in the West. The British Expeditionary Force and a good number of Frenchmen were bottled up on the Fench coast around the port of Dunkirk, or Dunquerque in the French spelling. An unplanned, frantic operation ensued to rescue as many of the men as possible. This plan was commanded from room that formely housed an elelctric generator, so it was given the name "Operation Dynamo." The British Admiralty did not hold much hope for Dynamo; they origanlly hoped to get out 45,000 of the trapped men.
When Operation Dynamo came to an end on 4 June, 1940, 338,286 troops had been rescued. After the operation, the man who led it, Admiral Sir Bertram Home Ramsay, said this:
"We can always count on glorious deeds, but less often on good direction and management."
Take that quote to work with you and see what your boss thinks of it. You might want to throw in Ramsay's follow on:
"This may sound as self praise, but you know that I count little for myself and think soley of the wider aspect of the job to be gained."
Regards,
Gunstar Aries

A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

True story about how people translate what they hear into what they think they heard:
As a teacher in a private school, I once had a conference with the mom of one of my 7th graders. I was careful to compliment the boy, who was fairly bright. I told mom this, and added that he had the ability to pick things up more rapidly than the majority of his classmates. I thought she would be pleased.
Next day, principal calls me in his office. Wants to know why the mom is so mad and threatening to pull the child from the school. I have no idea. He adds that it has something to do with with my class is holding her son back. I tell him exactly what I told her, he smiles and we both laugh. You have to be SO careful when you choose your words!

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
