Default My Moebius Galactica Build

Hey Guys!

I thought I would kick off my posting with my recent build. The Moebius Galactica. I drilled out the portholes and threaded the smallest strands of Fiber Optics I could find to replicate the look and scale of the original Miniature. I took the same approach to the Weathering and painting, again to capture the look of the original Miniature...

Spectacular! Looks as if it jumped right off the show and into your hobby space! Very well done!

And welcome to the Fleets!

Sincere thanks guys!

I wanted to capture the look of the actual miniature as seen back in 1978. Scale Lighting, with diffused warm white LEDS, Correct color and LIGHT weathering Helped...

Hello Mark,
Very nice work on the model kits. Great job! Oh, and welcome to Fleets.

I do have a question for you about the kits.
I have made several of the old Monogram/Revell BG kits and I'm picking up the New Moebius TOS Galactica and Viper soon. I'm trying to match up the hull color of the Big G and Viper as best I can.
For my old Galactica kits I have used Flat Gull Gray. It seems close but I'm not sure it's quite right. I'm not even sure what hull color to use for the Viper. I've kinda winged it over the years but wanted to get your input on the matter as a fellow modeler.
What color(s) did you use to paint the hull of both kits, if I may ask? I like the color(s) you have used. Not too dark and not too light.
I'd very much appreciate your input. Thanks.

Sincere and humble thanks!

I actually custom mixed Floquil Reefer white 50% and Floquil grime 50% for the Vipers. I primed them with flat black first.

For the Galactica I Did approximately 90% reefer with and the rest Grime. I knda eyeballed it.

Here are a few more pictures of my Vipers...
