I always imagined when i watched the show where were the multi-seat vipers. You know for a RIO. I mean they did have need for radar/photo recon? How about large scale ordinance? So here is my idea of a Tandem Seat Viper.

Re: viper
It looks like you are off to a good start with your design.
Here is a website that has (both canon and non-canon) diagrams of different Viper variants:
https://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/bs...p?filter=ColSm
There are different types of multi-seat vipers that fit different rolls.
Not only that, but in G80, a two-seat Viper was featured.
I am looking forward to seeing how this project turns out!

Re: viper
I just looked at that page and got instantly depressed. I am so far behind the curve it's not even funny. I need to get into ITT quick so I can get the design training to come up with a whole new design. I don't want to do a simple variant of a great design. I even loved the Blackhawk Helicoptor lol

Re: viper
In a video experiment I tried to make a tandem seat viper utilizing the existing single seat Viper shots... and seeing that they never made or shot a model for a tandem seat viper in G1980. They're in this sequence in a couple of the side views of the Viper. Kind of quick, but worked better than I thought.

Re: viper
@Avrateal: There is no need to feel depressed. You are doing a GREAT JOB with what you are doing now!!!
I am still using pencils and paper to design what I want and need.
I too would like to learn some of the design programs so that I can design some of the paper models that I would like to make.
If it will help, I will but you a round of ambrosia and some mushies !

Re: viper
yeah no point.. I use to do a lot of 3d modeling for a few series.. BSG being one of the first.. at the moment there are 3 Galactica models going on here.. I still plan on doing one myself..
you always find someone has done it before, a little different,, and even at times a little to a lot better.
but this is your learning curve. just have fun with it and see where it leads
