Spacecroppers is the final episode I will be working on. While there still is The Return of Lt. Starbuck, I consider David Kerin's work to be the de facto version. There's no way I could improve on it.
Spacecroppers is probably the most out-of-place episode in the entire Galactica 1980 lineup. Again, though, there is a gem of a good idea underneath. It's just covered in fertilizer. (How's that for an episode connection!)
For this final episode, I did the following:
1) Inane dialogue reduced. Surprisingly, there wasn't that much of it. Really surprising!
2) Dr. Zee retconned out. If Dr. Zee is the next step in human development, I'm rooting for the Cylons. Most painful was when he was lecturing the great Adama on how rain is made. That scene, along with all his others, are gone.
3) The Super Scouts brought down to Earth. Their final appearance is minimized and without super jumping or super seeding. Still, Glen Larson's youngest daughter continues to be just adorable! And bonus for losing that walking computer Scout from Super Scouts.
So, with this being the end. I'd like your opinions. With these changes, were the episodes any better? Any more tolerable? Did it help that the original titles were used instead of the G1980 ones?
Thoughts? Suggestions? Slanders?
