LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- March 3, 2003 -- Galacticon, Inc. today announced GALACTICON 2003, a premiere fan-based event which celebrates the 25th anniversary (1978-2003) of the Original "Battlestar Galactica" television series. The event will bring together original television show participants and fans together for a weekend of activities, discussions, commemorations and special surprises.
The event is scheduled for October 24-26, 2003 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Nicknamed "Hotel of the Stars" the Sheraton Universal is situated on the back lot of Universal Studios and is located just minutes from Universal Citywalk, Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and downtown Los Angeles. Rooms can be booked through information at the GALACTICON 2003 web site.

The event is planned as the largest gathering of "Battlestar Galactica" actors, producers, directors, crew and fans in one locale. Invitations to numerous cast, crew and production members have begun to be issued.

Can anybody get me a slow dance with Anne Lockhart?
Then I could die a happy man!
Cheers,
Peter (wondering what he can sell to get the cash for the event)

"Can anybody get me a slow dance with Anne Lockhart? Then I could die a happy man!"
Write that down and send it to me at the volunteer address- I'll propose the idea of a "Celebrity Dance Card Raffle" for charity, perhaps? I like it!
I'll be sure to mention that it shouldn't be a random drawing, otherwise you may wind up dancing with Jack Stauffer, and just plain die!

Are there going to be any "package deals" offered? I assume Richard will be there with The Second Coming Tralier.

Come on a Galactica convention and no Hatch trailer, come on now? This is whats called a No brainer isn't it. I hope this board is the constant news feeding place, so all up dates will come here to be discussed and talked about.

Among the Galacticon 2003 events, there will be a special video presentation session(s). That's mentioned on the web site. "What" will be shown will be announced either on the web site, at the event, or reserved as special surprise(s).
The web site will endeavor to cover as much as possible as planning occurs.

And, yes, TSC is planned to be shown. Imagine the electricity of BG fans gathered together and watching. It ought to be an amazing time.

Be careful that you not get yourself overloaded, my friend. I know how crazy planning a wedding is and this has a few thousand more variables: at least a couple hundred of those will be coming your way, IMHO.

Re: Announcing: Galacticon 2003!
So how was Galacticon... the original? Give the good, bad and the ugly.
Galacticon 2 I heard was fun. A bit of confusion but fun.
Galacticon 3 was made fun by the large showing of both old cast (celebrating 35 yahrens/years for the original Galactica) and the new cast (celebrating 10 years). Good amount of confusion, but a blast.
I guess I am curious of is if in all three incarnations if there has ever been any real order to the Galacticon conventions? You know, what went right and why it went right.
Haven't heard anything about the original Galacticon so would love to hear about it.
