Boston Spaceship ( Model) wip
My newest endeavor.
Began using my bought training to get me started. While learning as I go. Always wanted to make this, though it will not be a recreation or trying to duplicate the original album art.
( Since I am only a beginner)
Always wanted to try...
My 4th attempt at modeling, but this time I am using methods I have learned so far on training tuts.
( Some Real Nostalgia here)
I did the body myself- drew the shape spline out-
-- The Neck-Fret Board-Exhaust Rim- I did not do, those were scavenged from other models......
Here are 2 after I got the Logo made.
I pathed it out in Photoshop, exported as .ai Illustrator file, right into c4d.
waddya think?

So much to learn , so little time, and so many ideas with so little knowledge and so much to discover with so many things to try.

I just had to take a shot at trying to get a low orbit look.

Re: Boston Spaceship ( Model) wip
wow, I was just thinking about the Boston album art this morning!
I've always wanted to do some cool animations of the guitar ship to a selection of their best music.
Are you going to model the "organ pipe ship" from 3rd Stage?

Re: Boston Spaceship ( Model) wip
Not sure, only got the album image and have not really looked at it.
Unsure if I could. Am still infant modeler that was born yesterday lol.
No, but I got a few ideas, and somewhat a plot-story for the music video-Intro.

Re: Boston Spaceship ( Model) wip
I'll see if I can whip up an organ pipe ship sometime soon.
I'll have to use my imagination though, I don't think it was ever shown with any other angles besides the one on the album cover.

My first concert was in January, 1979, at the WVU Coliseum, featuring Boston as the headliner. For the warm-up, they had this "shaggy haired" guy who, for one of his songs, sat on the edge of the stage playing a little thing called "Bad Motor Scooter" on a steel guitar. Yep, it was Sammy Hagar.
Musically, that night, it was "almost heaven".
Sorry to go off-topic.
