Re: 07: The Young Lords
The one thing about this episode I'm glad I changed even more than getting rid of the singing, was also changing the nature of Kyle and Miri's relationship to each other, because the one other disconcerting thing about the episode was the suggestion that this was a planet in which only one small family of blood relatives was all that was left, and that raised too many distasteful suggestions if one thought further about that.

Re: 07: The Young Lords
Hmm . . . makes me wonder about the Proteus families. After all, staying in one cell for generations in a row, and afraid to even open the door . . . well, suffice it to say they were more inbred than pedigree daggits. Did you rewrite that one as well, Eric? I'd love to hear how you handled that.

LOL, I will never be able to watch that episode again without thinking about that. (Of course their doors could no longer lock if I remember.)

Well, presumably the cell doors worked for some measure of time. LOL! I can just imagine the creak in the night as later generations risked venturing into another cell, terrified of the Enforcers' wrath. After all, Adultress seemed a friendly lass.
Perhaps their culture simply accepted incestuous relationships as the "norm". I notice that we tend to want to "clean up" these deviations of what our culture considers acceptable, rather than just excuse them as being different. After all, they were star systems away. Why should they conform to our standards for the sake of aesthetics?

Re: 07: The Young Lords
I've always enjoyed this episode.
I would have like to have seen it end differently and have Miri join the crew of the Galactica.
The Starbuck would have three women to choose from.

Re: 07: The Young Lords
Probably a good thing that Starbuck didn't bring back all the women he kissed in the show . . .
Good to see you here, Athene!

What would you title that:
Starbuck's Dream
Starbuck's Nightmare
A Normal Starbuck Date

I'd call it Starbuck's Marathon...
...as he is chased by his fellow male squadron members who don't have dates.

How about Starbuck's Curse? Or The Book of Starbuck?

Re: 07: The Young Lords
I never saw the "incestuous" aspect as either overly obvious, or a problem. After all, Colonial society seems to have great similarities to Egyptian. Pharaohs and other high muckity-mucks routinely married close female relatives, as a matter of course, in imitation of the gods. Perhaps, some sub-sets of Colonial society saw nothing untoward in this.

Re: 07: The Young Lords
I was watching this episode with my kids the other day and couldn't help notice that when Miri treated Starbuck's leg injury, she left him clad in his swamp soaked pants and wrapped the bandage up around them.
Now--purely for the sake of introducing realism, you understand--the pants need to go!
