Re: Oh...my...gawd!
I'll ask if the guy can come post some pictures over here. They are well worth seeing!

Re: Oh...my...gawd!
Hey Monolith! I followed the link. Couldn't open it either, however, if you look deeper into the thread, one can see some pics that you don't have to be a member to check out. Check somewhere around page 5,6 & 7. In one post, the maker of this extremely impressive model reveals himself. As I suspected, this is the Jim Creveling model. I have a link to the site showcasing the work he did if anyone is interested. https://www.cloudster.com/Sets&Vehicl...aCreveling.htm
I had heard somewhere (cannot recall where) that the accuracy of his model may be just a bit off. I think it had something to do with the proportions of each section as related to each other, but I'm not sure. For the life of me, I cannot figure where or what. I certainly wouldn't snub my nose at this. I think it's awesome. Would LOVE to have it. (although I have NO idea where I'd put this...it would take up about a third of a very cramped bedroom! Living room centerpiece maybe? )

That is some good detail. Styrene overlay on balsa wood?

Re: Oh...my...gawd!
I think this is the same modeler but a newer model. The pictures of the build are a bit different.

Hey Steve! Long time no speak brother! I was just thinking about your super small vipers. They would just about be to scale for this model wouldn't you say? Hope you can make it out to hang soon man.

That is some impressive detail. That would drive me absolutely bonkers trying to do. Great posting though, I needed reference and inspiration on hull detailing and nurnies.

The Cloudster photos are of Jim's first Galactica build, the RPF photos are Jim's latest build.
The first one is a little off in the detail as there wasn't a lot of information available at the time he built it. The area on the bottom of the engines where the FalGal plate is was one area that was made up...and I think it looks better than the studio model detail.
As the information on the studio model became easier to find he started to build the second one, and at one point offered to sell the first one.
