Adama Journals
Hey all,
Working on an idea of Adama and Tigh when they were pilots, and started modeling the various things that would go with it. Being it is pre-TOS, I'm not sticking exactly to known designs and instead having a bit of fun with them. So if you're looking for exact accuracy on certain things, its not going to be there.
I have an idea that these may tie into, but we'll see what happens there.
Hope you like,
Dave

Re: Adama Journals
Hey there Taranis, was hoping you'd see these. For the idea I have in mind I was going to use your landing bay set if you wouldn't mind. It's freakin' beautiful. I've steered away from 3d Studio MAX and started working with Cinema 4d and I have to say I love the program. And love is an understatement. I imported the LW bay you created and it converts over beautifully.
I will update here with other set pieces and ships as they develop.

Re: Adama Journals
Working on a "war-room", which is a room that can be redressed to be other various rooms, just as the original series redressed the set to be the war-room, crew quarters or officer's club.
Also included is a pic of the young CGI Adama (work in progress)

Re: Adama Journals
Amazing !
I'd say try to get Adama's facial likeness a bit closer to what we're used to, but the war room is certainly a stunning picture. I love these !!!

Re: Adama Journals
Hey again...
Working on a shuttle interior. Started modeling this interior based on the shuttle CGI model I'm using, but once inside I realized the scale is all out of whack, so this interior and shuttle is smaller in size compared to the shuttle of the original series.
As with the others, this is a work in progress. Kind of going back and forth between models trying to get the main stuff done, and will go back and tweak them more.

Re: Adama Journals
Adapting the current shuttle for an older version. A bit of "kit-bashing" of the model to make it different. Went for a larger thruster design for this, and there's no rear bay for landrams. May have to change the access hatch as well.

Re: Adama Journals
Playing around with a different battlestar model for this "prequel" timeframe. This battlestar model was built by Treybor over at foundation3d. Originally in Lightwave, I brought it into Cinema 4d and made some additions and alterations. I like the model, but the front is not quite right. However this is a young Adama story, so the Battlestars could have some differences from the ones in the series.

Re: Adama Journals
Haven't posted any images in a bit, but I have been working on it. The script is done and I've been keeping the computer running to render elements. Thought I'd post a work in progress shot for one of the scenes. Will continue to post as I work on them.

Re: Adama Journals
Further to the sound recording process, have you considered soundalikes ? I remember seeing a TV interview with a UK soap star, no-one that well known, talking about her early years. She'd done impersonations to make ends meet and there and then in the interview she came out with a load of voices (both male and female) and you couldn't tell they weren't the real people !
If anyone happens to know someone with that talent that is......just an idea !
