Default BSG Return of Starbuck Re-edit ISO

Hello all...

I finally got around to uploading a DVD ISO format of the G1980 Return of Starbuck re-edit, which under it's new title is called "Judgement Day."

Just uploaded the torrent to www.demonoid.com, so if you go there and search "battlestar galactica" you should find it.

As a DVD ISO you will need to burn it to a DVD as a disk image, and then it should be able to play in a standard tv DVD player. This is a better quality than the previously released xvid avi that I put online before, but is of course larger in sice. Some 3 gig roughly. Since the original footage is from a VHS it is not the best looking source material, but I did try to get the FX a little more grainy to match the original footage.

Since this is larger, I ask that anyone who downloads the file, please try to keep it on to seed for others.

I'll let this go for a while, then when the downloading dies down I'll upload one of the others in an ISO disk image format.

All the best,

Dave

Actually, I know a couple people this will make great Christmas gifts for.

Thanks again DK.

Well I burned it to DVD.

But for some reason, the video and audio sputters through the whole thing when I play it on the DVd player in my computer.

What did I do wrong?

I'm not sure. Burned my copy from the same ISO and they play alright for me. Possibly could be the DVD player having some incompatability. Or something I'm just not sure of. If anyone else completes the download, let us know if you're having the same problem or not.

Although it seems like Bionicbob's played okay.

It amazes me that dvd players/burners are not down to one sure format. I have dvd's that play fine for me that I've burned, yet I cannot give to certain friends because I know their players will have a difficult time playing them.

It really confuses me since the Saga ISO played fine in my computer and on a DVD player. I can't imagine there'd be much difference between the two since they were created by the same person.

I wonder if me surfing the web while the Torrent was downloading had any effect?

I know it won't work on my cheapo APEX, but I'll try it at my friend's house tomorrow where the other one worked fine.

I've wondered the surfing the web thing too, however there can be different torrents uploading/downloading at the same time and it keeps track of those.

Also, the ISO files were created in the same program, so all the aspects of the disk image should be the same.

When you burn the file, did you burn at a high speed like 48x or a slower speed (like 4x). Whenever I am burning a disk I try to burn at the slowest speed possible as it gives a "deeper" and more reliable burn. Higher spped saves time, but not always as reliable.

felgercarb, you know what? I didn't even look at my speed. I did it at "maximum" which is who the hell knows how fast.

I'm using NERO, and I lave a Lite-something DVD burner.

That's what Belarc came up with.

In NERO I have four speed setings, Maximum, 2.4X, 2X, and 1X.

I almost certainly burned at Maximum. I'll give 1X a shot tonight before I pass out.

This is a fan-edit of the Galactica 1980 episode.

The main changes to the episode include:
*Removed all Galactica 1980 elements and placing it as an original episode taking place some time after "Hand of God"
*New FX sequences for opening/battle with Cylons and crash.
*Dr. Zee narration gone.
*Different ending, again without Dr. Zee or Adama talking about finding the pod.
*Starbuck gets off the planet.

Those are the main changes. The heart of the story is mostly the same, with Starbuck repairing and becoming friends with Cy.
Since the source material was a VHS recording the quality is not full DVD, but it is still very good quality. Just a bit more grainy than the DVD's we're all now used to.

I also tried to match the graininess in the new elements I added so it wouldn't go from grainy to suddenly sharp.

Hope that answeres the question. The new elements are fanmade, edited into the original episode.

Yep!

I watched it twice now. Encountered no problems at all. I played it on my cheapo no name $30.00 player and my expensive Sony player, both with sucess. No skipping, no freezing. Excellent video and sound.

Default Thank You

I just wanted to say thank you to those who seeded the file. I haven't watched mine yet but, the other file (Saga) is working great.

Is it possible to seed the other two files "Living Legend and Hand of God" again for those of us joined the forum late?

thanks,

Newborn

I will be uploading Living Legend in the next couple weeks as a DVD ISO disk image, also with the raw FX as an extra. After that gets a chance to upload and seed for a while, I will do the same with Hand of God/Experiment in Terra, which will both be on the single DVD ISO disk image. And again the raw FX from each included as extras. I know they are a bit larger in size, but I think the ability to burn to a standard DVD format, and the better quality is worth it.

I will post here as soon as I get Living Legend online.

Will the Return of Starbuck/Judgement Day still be up over this weekend? I'm going to give it another go on my laptop.

Also, can I Torrent more than one at a time if Living Legen is up?

Judgement Day will definately remain up for some time to come. Maybe I'll get Living Legend up too. I'm downloading a couple things now, so if those finish, then I can free up the transfer.
