Why SciFI Friday?
Why is the "promotional" tag SciFi Fridays such a big thing for the SciFi Channel? Given the name of teh channel (SciFi), should EVERYDAY, 24/7 be scifi???
What else happens on a SciFi Channel to make only Fridays scifi? (rhetorical question )

They talk up space?.....nah.....show stars?....nah....see stars?........huh uh.........quite frankly, I can't figure out why Sci-Fi only shows sci-fi shows on Friday. Maybe cause it takes up space on their schedule. hmmm.....

For shame, BST.
The other 6 days are for infomercials - and MOVIES! Sci-Fi movies - like The Flintstones, and Viva Rock Vegas!

They need some way of justifing the name of the channel.
Personnally I think they should change the name to "The Horror Channel" since the majority of the time that seems to be what they are showing.

Well, the movies aren't that bad. I have seen some of them and like it. Just my two cents. Definitely not blockbusters but really cool. I hope they continue producing them.

Because they inherited it from Showtime.*
Showtime had the original Sci-Friday but, one assumes, whoever the exec that liked sci-fi programming was left and the new exec decided to get rid of the Sci-Friday line up in favor of their current line-up of (last I checked) moderately "adult" fare.
(*)Sciffy and Showtime were at one time subsidiaries of the same company. That's likely how they initially got Stargate when Showtime stopped airing it.
