Unhappy Actor Howard Keel passes away

I just heard on the news that noted classic actor Howard Keel has passed away from his fight against colon cancer. He died at his home with family.

From 1971-1992 he was the father-in-law to Edward James Olmos through Keel's daughter Kaija's marriage to Olmos. He is grandfather to Mico and Bodie Olmos.

Keel was known in his early career for his baritone voice and sang in many musicals including Showboat and Annie get your gun, and Kiss Me Kate! He then transistioned to acting including many westerns acting with greats such as John Wayne. He eventually took a role on the Dallas tv series as Clayton Farlow which lasted ten years.

Another great actor gone ,
I always enjoyed his performances in any film he was in I think the first film I had seen him was "seven Brides for seven Brothers" a musical with the lovely Jane Powell as Milly. a great story.
I also remember him in westerns and along side the great JOHN WAYNE (one of my Favourite filmstars of them all) and they worked along side will on screen together.
Another Film I liked is Calamity Jane with Doris Day and Keel as Wild "Bill" Hickock.
another Musical with alot of fun too.

Being a long time fan of the tv show Dallas I do believe that he had a part on that show. Another great actor gone.

I used to watch Dallas, religiously, and as much as I liked Jim Davis (Jock Ewing), they couldn't have done much better than casting Howard Keel as Clayton. I enjoyed his part in the show very much.

Rest in Peace, Mr Keel
