Hi all! It was too painful for me to watch the mini, so I spent the night watching the original and wonderful DVDs. However, that doesn't mean I forgot what was going on - so every few minutes or so, I would check the SciFi site for feedback - good way to watch without actually watching!
And this is what was very very odd. For the first 100 posts or so, and during the first showing until about the first half of the second showing, the feedback on SciFi was /tremendously/ negative! Not just ho-hum, but downright hated the thing. There were only a few positives, and they were drowned by the negatives.
Then, suddenly, well after the end of the first showing and nearing the end of the second, the SciFi posts turned /decidedly/ positive - with zero negatives! And instead of being gradual, they all hit at once.
Not until much later did the tally finally change back somewhat - to what looks more like 50-50.
When you are watching a board like I was, this looks /really really/ odd. Yes, you expect the teeter totter to shift back and forth a bit, but nothing like this, not all of a sudden. The only other time I saw something like this happen was when we had a concerted effort by pro-mini folks to flood the board with false posts.
I have a strong feeling we may never see the actual ratings for the show, or an actual percentage of viewer comments. That feeling is pretty overwhelming right now. Call me overreactive, but in life whenever things seem overly coincidental to be true, they usually aren't.
Well, I do hope we get authentic data after all. It will be interesting for sure.
Silly me,
Muffit
