We had a restaurant in our neighborhood - a pizza place - called Gino's. They made a hot pastrami sandwich that was to die for.
It's a Chinese place now....

GINO... it means Gee... I Need O-Zone... which is a good thing for that to stand for, since if it stood for Gosh I Dont Need O-Zone, that would just be wacked. So there you are...

Not really a wine drinker either.
ANd I seem to be slowly weaning myself off of other drinks.
Tequila. (After that one night with a full bottle of Monte Alban...I guess you can call it Full Monte..LOL....and the worm...I've pretty much written off Tequila.)
Vodka. (Same thing)
Jaegermeister. Jagerbombs, baby. Jaegerbombs. (That's Jaegermeister and Red Bull for the uninitiated.)
Apple Pucker. Almost always safe.

My first tie-on was peach schnapps poured into Zima.
What a day that was! First time I was ever drunk.
(First time I'd hurled in 15 years too )

Yes Sept17th, yes I did. Nice to know people sill remember the ol' NFG. A friend and I ran the site together, he ran it for a while by himself and then I got the site back. Spam pretty much killed that b.board and I moved the site when I changed it into a pure technology page.

Jon, if i remember right yes he did run the News FLash Galactica site. If i recall he also was an avid modelor back then.

In truth, I haven't really modeled since my last B5 model of the Asimov Luxury Liner. Someplace I had a version of Galactica I had been working on but ... some far superior modeler beat me to it.
Because the B5Tech constitution gives normal users a LOT of control over those forums, so as to prevent Mods, Admins, and the forum owner from abusing their power over the average user, it does not look like GINO will be leaving that area any time soon.
So, what I am going to do is simply move the Galactica Tech-Manual debates for TOS over to the Tigerclaw b.board where I have complete control.

I think it would be sweet to have the TOS stuff here. Don and the crew are great and we have a really lively chat going on about the specs and stuff already, how about it TC? We would love more to see and talk about here...

I just spent a chunk of time composing a message in reply, then my internet exploder failed me. Here's a shorter version of it:
I disagree with your decision. However, I will not bare my bottom at you all and start trashing everything you are loyal to. Instead, I implore you to listen to the other side. A discussion on the decision of CF has cultivated at my humble site. (Including analysis by a rape survivor). If you are truly the moral high-ground, you will listen to what we so-called GINO defendants have to say. Ban me from Fleets if you desire, sir and madam moderators, you have closed off the only section where I belonged. I do not ask you to re-open the TNS forum, you made it very clear that would not happen. I only ask you to consider what you have left behind. Here is the discussion, read it if you wish.

I think you missed part of my point: I am too young to have seen TOS when it was around. I am not a TOS fan. I don't have a problem with TOS fans, but i will not be returning because I know nothing about what kind of hopes and dreams it may have given anyone.
I also have no intentions of discussing the TOS-TNS series here, as I said.

I happen to agree with Titon, Warrior, BST, Dawg, Fragmentary, Gemini1999,Jewels, Martok2112" as I understant it. This site was for BSG not for some BSG ripoff. I tried very hard to watch the new one and give it a chance but I was unwatchable except for the FX. If someone wants a site just for the original, they have the right to do that, period and I will support it.

Well, leeadama,
I read the replies over at your site. Most thoughtful. From the vitriol of their remarks, one would think that we were stealing their first-born.
For the love of God, there are OTHER SITES to discuss the new show! We simply do not agree, AT ALL, which much of Mr. Moore's story-telling technique. We're sick and tired of hearing how closely this show portrays REAL LIFE. If that's the case then, let Mr. Moore write some stories that show the "good in people" instead of concentrating on these so-called "personal issues".
As far as I'm concerned, each and every "issue" that these characters have goes right out the window, with the destruction of their homeworlds. Anything bothersome to them, with which to have an "issue", pales horribly in comparison to the destruction of 12 planets....wouldn't you say?

Then, you never really tried to truly understand us. One could say that you were being as 'closed-minded' for not doing that as we supposedly are, for closing down the TNS forum.
BST
btw, having an opinion is not a bannable offense.

Well put BST. The owners of this site have the right to do as they wish. I don't even like the commercials of the new show, it is a shame it has to drag the name in the mud.

Speaking only for myself, and not for the moderators, I think your post does a disservice to them because the other side was allowed its say for a decent interval period after the decision was made. They didn't need any "imploring" to listen to the other side, because that courtesy and deference was granted even when they could have said that after the decision was made, there wouldn't be a decent interval period for people to comment on the discussion and whether the decision was valid. Heck, they even went so far as to post a response from Ron Moore himself, so what else must be proved on their part?
And BTW, I did read the "discussion" at your link if it can truly be called that. What I saw was less a discussion and more a case of some nasty remarks aimed at Fleets and TOS fanbase in general, and that's the kind of discussion I personally would have no desire to take part in. Perhaps there are others who might feel differently and more power to those who want to do that, but as far as this place is concerned, enough time has passed for the fallout to elapse from this and there isn't much left to say about it, no matter what your feelings are on the issuew.

I've also read the opinions of the "slighted" GINO fans and have been wholeheartedly disgusted with the lot of them.
I applaud you LeeAdama_Cylon for your reasoned toned. Unfortunately, I can't see you as representing the bulk of those who have somehow been "harmed" by the decision Don and the staff have made. If I ever were to contemplate asking Don to reconsider his decision I certainly wouldn't now given the vile things said about his staff and him personally, not to mention the outright slanders about the original series fanbase in general.
There is a total of ONE BBoard dedicated to the original Galactica. There's a slew of others all filled with handles that rant and rave how fantastic the show is on a constant basis. Surely the GINO crowd can get their fix somewhere else without imploring Don and the staff to go against their principles and wishes.
Frankly, its not like the GINO crowd wasn't warned enough when all of this was developing. The only thing that has happenned here is that Don reminded everyone who owns the place and who pays the bills.

I went back and read some of the tripe that these morons wrote and they all sound like a bunch of 5 year olds that did not get their own way. If these are the type of people that like the new one, they sure fit the mold of the show
