Thanks.
I mainly left some small parts black that would normally be red or yellow. I like the understated look. And I can always add it back in should I ever feel the need.

Re: Colonial laser from Monsters In Motion
Buyers beware! Over at Blackstar--we've been discussing these. When I contacted MIM a few months ago, they told me that these kits were custom made for them by a company called ATK models. However, another member noticed that these are recasts. If you look on the bottom of the handle in the center slit--the "Universal Studios" stamp is in there.
Buy at your own risk.

Re: Colonial laser from Monsters In Motion
I just got two more from MIM, and sad to say, their mold is falling apart. If you absolutely NEED one and are willing to brave the the Twelve Hells of sanding & puttying, then more power to ya!
Just an FYI

Re: Colonial laser from Monsters In Motion
Word is MIM's supplier has new molds. Too late for me. I'm done with resin as a prop material.

Workin' on another one right now- Rustoleum flat black protective enamel is workin' even better than the regular black paint I used on the first one!
I'm eager to finish these guns so I can get back to more Vipers- my first & best modeling love.

So if you are like me, you enjoy spinning the gun around the finger at the trigger guard just for that fun western feel...

Nah. But I do practice the fast left-handed draw in case I meet up with Redeye.

I dunno, I hear Redeye is fast, real fast. Many a man has gone up against Redeye, none have returned.
